Beware of Jealousy
Maybe some jealousy (or envious thought) has ever come in our heart.
But, let’s pray that our thankfulness to the Lord is bigger than the
jealousy.
So we’re not controlled by it or even make some mistakes because the
feeling has become deeper in our heart.
Don’t let the jealousy lead us to do some evil practice towards others.
If it’s the other way around, when that happens to us, can we accept the same
treatment from others?
God, today we come to You and put our hope in You, may Your love enable
us to get over all the negative feelings including envy and jealousy.
Teach us to stay thankful for what You’ve given to us, not merely
complaining about what we don’t have.

and every vile practice.

Berhati-hatilah
terhadap Iri Hati
Mungkin iri hati pernah singgah di hati kita.
Tetapi, marilah berdoa agar syukur kita kepada Allah jauh lebih kuat
daripada perasaan iri hati itu.
Sehingga kita tidak dikendalikan olehnya atau malah melakukan hal-hal
yang keliru karena sudah terlanjur ia merasuk di dada.
Jangan sampai karena rasa iri membuat kita melakukan perbuatan keji
terhadap sesama kita. Bila sebaliknya hal itu yang terjadi pada diri kita, apa
kita bisa menerima perlakuan serupa dari sesama kita?
Tuhan, hari ini kami datang dan mohon kepada-Mu agar kasih-Mu memampukan
kami melewati segala perasaan negatif, termasuk iri hati.
Ajar kami bersyukur atas apa yang Kauanugerahkan bagi kami, bukan melulu
mengeluhkan apa yang tidak kami miliki.

Sebab di mana
ada iri hati dan mementingkan diri sendiri
di situ ada kekacauan dan segala macam perbuatan jahat.
