Dare to Be Different

Being different is not bad; it is God's plan!

We are all part of one plan, God's plan. Yet each of us has a different function, because each of us is an individual. We are all special and unique, and God has an individual, personalized plan for each of us.

Now you [collectively] are Christ's body and [individually] you are members of it, each part severally and distinct [each with his own place and function].
--- 1 Corinthians 12:27

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We are different as well as unique. God creates us differently. Different from others.
Can you imagine if all of us are the same, would it be very boring?
The difference, our difference, within the body of Christ would make His Plan going perfectly. (-fon-)

Self-Improvement Comes from Dependence

Self-improvement does not come through self-effort; it comes from dependence upon God --- from faith in Him. He allows us to make an effort, but it must be effort made while depending on Him, not effort apart from Him.

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
--- John 15:5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Self improvement books are everywhere. I was one of them, who read it and really believe in it. That the power within yourself will do enormously if you're using it right. But those times were over.

Now, as Christian and Christ's child, I am aware of my weaknesses. The most important thing is that, I know I could be a better person in Christ. I could try so hard to fight with my own power, but finally it will end up in vain. Depend on Him so that we could be a better person. Not through our limited strength or power...

TOTD, June 26

The Name Has Power

Jesus has given every believer the power of attorney, or legal right, to use His Name. You use His Name by praying in the Name. The Name of Jesus is one of the major weapons with which you defend yourself and attack the kingdom of darkness. (Ephesians 6:12). Your hope is not in yourself; it is in the power of His Name!

The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!
And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven.
--- Luke 10:17,18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In the Name of Jesus, the devil would defeat. In the Name of Jesus, all the evil thing would bow down.
Let's pray in the Name of Jesus to defend ourselves from the evil ones...
Jesus is above everything! (-fon-)

Miracle from Mistakes

God can make miracles out of mistakes!

... God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along... He knows us far better than we know ourselves... and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
--- Romans 8:26-28

My own reflection on this Thought:
* With God, nothing is impossible. When you thought you made a mistake, maybe a very bad one, but if God allows, that mistake would become a miracle.
Surrender everything, including your biggest mistake to God. What we thought is a mistake, might be different with God's plan.
He's amazing! (-fon-)

TOTD, June 22-24

Be Filled with Life

Meditate daily on all the things you have to be thankful for. Rehearse them to the Lord in prayer, and as you do, you will find your heart filling up with life and light.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
--- 1 Thessalonians 5:18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* At night, spend some time to look back to all the good things today. It's important to wear the spectacles of gratefulness, so that we could see all the good things from God. It's important to stay positive in our thoughts... So that every little thing we got, we could give our heartiest thanks to the Lord.
Don't follow this stressful life, be thankful! (-fon-)

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

As long as we keep trying to do everything ourselves in our own way and in our own strength, we not only frustrate ourselves, we also frustrate the grace of the Holy Spirit, because it is a vital part of His ministry to help and strengthen those who serve the Lord.

As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul --- not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.
--- Colossians 1:10-12

My own reflection on this Thought:
* It's really interesting to read Colossians 1 above. Especially the part: the strength to endure the unendurable and spill over into joy.
Logically, it's impossible, isn't it?
But the Spirit of God could lead us into it. We'll become a very strong person in God so that we could endure the things that we thought we could never handle it.
It's His Spirit, it's His Strength! Pray for the ministry of the Holy Spirit to empower us always. (-fon-)

" Where Are You, Lord?"

One day a lady was sitting in a boat reading and quoting Psalm 91:11 which promises that the angles of the Lord will take charge of us and defend us and protect us in all our ways.

Just then something happened to the chair she was sitting on, and she fell over and cracked her head on the side of the boat. It hurt so bad her soul leaped up, and she started complaining to God, " I don't understand how this could have happened. Here I was reading and quoting Psalm 91:11 about how You send Your angels to watch over me and protect me, and look what happened! Where are You, Lord?"

Immediately God spoke to her and said, " Well, you're not dead, are you?"

We often become so upset over what happened, we fail to realize what God protected us from.

For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [ of obedience and service].
--- Psalm 91:11

My own reflection on this Thought:
* " Where are You, God?"
Maybe this is the question that you've been questioning recently. Due to so many mishaps in your life, and what you see from your perspective like tragedies in this world, that question often pops up in your mind.
God is not that far.. He's very near indeed.
The problem is, we fail to see what His Plans are!
We'll never know what His Plans are until one by one is being revealed to us.
He's near... All we have to do is just believe that He has planned everything accordingly.
All we have to do is just try our best and keep praying all the way. (-fon-)

TOTD, June 21

"I'm Worth It!"

If you can believe that God, Who is perfect, loves you, then you can believe that you are worth loving.

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
--- Jeremiah 31:3

My own reflection on this Thought:
* You are worthy. God creates you not by mistake. Even though it seems that your journey to this world might full of unpleasant things, for example: you're once almost being a victim of abortion, but it was fail, and you made it anyway till today...
God loves you just the way you are. Let His unconditional love heal your wound, and then make you believe once again that you're worthy of His love... (-fon-)

Don't Look Back

Don't think according to the past; think according to the Word of God.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? ...
--- Isaiah 43:18,19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Reading the sentences above, you might say it's almost impossible not to look back at our past at all. Our past is also a part of our life, right?

But today's word of God reminds us not to think with our old-fashioned way of thinking...
We, as the Children of God, need to renew our thinking in each day of our life. And that's through the Word of God and prayers, we'll be renewed each and every day...
(-fon-)

TOTD, June 19

Reason or Excuse

Reasons are totally different from excuses. There is a reason for us being the way we are; an excuse is what keeps us that way.

I turned about [penitent] and my heart was set to know and to search cut and to seek [true] wisdom and the reason of things ....
--- Ecclesiastes 7: 25

My own reflection on this Thought:
* 'Excuse' is more negative in its meaning rather than 'reason'.
For example, you have this hurt with your best friend, and you're being very bitter towards this life. Your hurt is the reason why you're being bitter.
You thought nothing will be able to heal you, because your wound is too deep. Well, I might say that's an excuse, because we know, with God nothing is impossible. So, don't let the excuse get into its power over you. You need to be sure in your faith, God will heal you... Don't let any excuse forbid you to be free from hurt. (-fon-)

Seek God

Too often we spend all of our time seeking God for answers to our problems when what we should be doing is just seeking God. We are not to seek God's presents, but His presence.

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
--- Matthew 6:33

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When we're too overwhelmed by a problem, it's really hard not to focus on it. While we know as a Christian, we need to seek God instead of worrying too much of the problem.
While we seek God seriously, we might see some secrets are being revealed. For example, you could know what your bitterness is, or just find a new way to solve your problem. Name it, it could be anything according to His Will.
Today, even though how hard it is, try to seek God more than seek the solution of our problems. Seeking God can give us new idea, make us more creative, and will heal our wounds and hurts.
Only Him can give us 'more' in this life. So, seek Him more! (-fon-)

TOTD, June 15-17

Grace is Favor

Grace is God doing us a favor, coming in with His power and might to accomplish in and through us what we don't deserve for Him to do.

But he said to me, " My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on upon me.
--- 2 Corinthians 12:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In weaknesses, He shows more grace of His. In weaknesses, His power is made perfect to us. Are you in hatred with all your weaknesses? Surrender them to God, so His grace will appear... (-fon-)

God Loves You That Much!

People have a craving, a longing, a desire in their hearts to be loved. God made us that way. Many people believe that God loves the world and that He loves His Son, Jesus, but they have a hard time believing that God loves them. Yet John 17:26 teaches us that God loves us as much as He loves Jesus.

The Lord ministered to me about that one day when I was studying. He said (in my heart),
" Joyce, I do so many things for people every day because I love them, and they don't ever see it. They don't recognize it at all. For example, every day when I speak to the sun and say, 'Rise,' I do it for Joyce, for Betty, for Jamie, for ( fill in your name here)."
Stop and think about that. The sun rises in the sky every day for you. And we just take that for granted. We know the sun is going to come up every day, but it rises for you. God loves you that much.

For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everylasting life.
--- John 3:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Look at the natural beauty that He has created for us. Maybe, we're just too busy to do so... But today, stop for a while, take a minute from your busy schedule and see: the sun, the cloud, the moon, etc...etc..
See how great is our Lord and how He loves each of us tremendously...(-fon-)

Victory Begins in the Mind

Never forget this: Your mind plays an important role in your victory.
It is the power of the Holy Spirit working through the Word of God that brings victory into our lives. But a large part of the work that needs to be done is for us to line up our thinking with God and His Word. If we refuse to do this or choose to think it is unimportant, we will never experience victory.

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [ by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [ in His sight for you].
--- Romans 12:2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Success is a mind game. You'll act according to your thought.
In order to be a positive and successful person, we need to nurture the attitude of positive thinking...
Fill your mind with positivity! (-fon-)

TOTD, June 14

Stand Up on the Inside

Standing up on the inside does not mean being rebellious or having an aggressive attitude toward those who don't understand us. It means having a quiet inner confidence that takes us through the finish line. It is knowing inside that despite what is going on, on the outside, everything is going to be all right because God is on the scene, and when He is present nothing is impossible.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength...
--- Isaiah 30:15

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We should have confidence in God that He'll be there even in the worst storm or tsunami that we're facing now.
He'll never leave us alone. But so many times we failed to do so, because we're too attached to the problems.
I'm not going to say your problems are simple. Maybe that's the worst problem ever in your life. But we just got to believe, even the worst tsunami will be over in a certain period of time. So, let's wait for that moment patiently and in huge faith to our GOD... (-fon-)

TOTD, June 13

Discipline the Mouth

We need the help of the Holy Spirit to control our tongues, but God will not do it all for us. We must learn to discipline our own mouths and take responsibility for what comes out of them.

I said, " I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will bridle my mouth, so long as the wicked are in my presence."
--- Psalm 39:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Mocking at others, then laughing together. Maybe that's the common thing that you've been doing right now. But how do you know whether the person that you've been talked about is hurt by your words or not? I think, some people might say, it's just a joke, or I don't mean any of my words they're just come out like that...
But please, don't hurt others with your words. Pick positive words in your daily conversation. Be responsible with the words that you're going to say. Think before saying anything... (-fon-)

TOTD, June 12

Fear Not

Approach life with boldness. The Spirit of the Lord is in you when you ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit --- so make up your mind not to fear.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
--- 2 Timothy 1:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Fear always there in our life. One thing that matters: how could we deal with it?
Look into your heart, ask yourself, what's your fear? From the biggest one to the smallest one... You need to know yourself, and admit that you have such fear.. Then pray to God, surrendering all fear that you have.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with the new courage to face all the fear, and then we could feel the peace that comes from God Himself.
(-fon-)

TOTD, June 11

That's Not Your Job!

You will frustrate yourself unbearably until you learn that you are not to try to do the work of the Holy Spirit! You can't take on the job of making all the necessary changes in your life.
That's not your job --- it's the job of the Holy Spirit!

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in every increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
--- 2 Corinthians 3:18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We can't change everything in our life. God can!
Let the Holy Spirit change you and me! All we can offer is a heart that's willing to change for the better us in God. (-fon-)

The Cleansing Blood

Jesus has forgiven every sin --- not only the wrong things you have done but every wrong thing you ever will do.
He has already paid for your sins and errors by shedding His Blood on the cross for them and has determined to cleanse you from them.

... the blood of Jesus Christ His [God's] Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
--- 1 John 1:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* It's His Blood that He shed on the cross, has cleaned all of us. And it's our duty to treasure His Love by doing the best we can do according to His Will. (-fon-)

God's Prosperity

The Lord wants to prosper us in every way, but He loves us too much to bless us with more than we are capable of handling. To the degree that we grow or prosper spiritually as we spend time alone with Him and continue in His Word, He will see to it that we prosper or progress in natural things.

We're the best of friends, and I pray for good fortune in everything you do, and for your good health --- that your everyday affairs prosper, as well as your soul!
--- 3 John 2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We need to seek the Kingdom of God first, and all things will be added more and more to our life.
We might seldom do this, or we do what we thought was right which is the other way around. We seek wealth, health, prosperity, success, happiness, or fame, and forget easily: where do those things come from?
Knowing that only God is the true source of all the good things in this life, we should seek him with all our heart, then other things and needs in our life will be prepared by Him for us... (-fon-)

Deliverance Through Peace

It is amazing what the Lord would deliver us from, sovereignly and supernaturally, if we would choose to honor Him by staying in peace.

And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [ a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God.
--- Philippians 1:28

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The peace that comes from God is very strong. It's stronger than our biggest problem in this world.
Let's pray that His Peace be with us always. His peace which beyond our understanding will fill our hearts. It can make us rejoice even if we're in such a disadvantageous situation. He is able! (-fon-)

Receive God's Love

Do you know what God wants you to do today? He wants you to accept and receive His love.

May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell [settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love.
That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience of yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!]
--- Ephesians 3:17-19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* One day in your life, you might wonder, if God loves me so much, why does He let this happen to me? Why He doesn't give me what I want, the thing that I've dreamed of all my life?
God can't be understood. He is much more than our understanding. One thing that we have to be sure that His love will never change. His love for us will lead us through this life, a path that might be different with our expectation, but it's within His Plan for our life. Accept and receive His Love, no matter how painful your today's life is... Just believe His Love will see us through... (-fon-)

TOTD, June 06

Value in Identity, Not Performance

When we know we have value in our identity (who we are in Christ) rather than in our performance or behavior, we are able to get our minds off what others are thinking about us all the time.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
---Galatians 2:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We are God's children, the apple of His Eyes. When we know about this, we're supposed to realize it and behave properly, of course the act of love would dominate our behavior. But, even we've done our best, we can't please everyone. There some other people who thinks negatively towards our sincerity. To deal with those people, no need to compromise, because we know our identity in Christ. Don't hesitate to spread His Love everywhere you go! (-fon-)

TOTD, June 05

"Thy Will Be Done"

The Lord does not push, shove, demand, manipulate, or force people. He leads, guides, prompts, and suggests. It is the responsibility of each person to give their will over to Him for His purposes. Sometimes this takes longer with one person than another.

And He [Jesus] died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for him Who died and was raised again for their sake.
--- 2 Corinthians 5 : 15

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Thy will be done or my will be done?
We need to surrender ourselves all over again just to make sure that Thy Will, Your Will oh God, let it be in my life.
While we're fighting so much for getting our will, getting what we want and getting what we need, it's about time to change.
Change for the better so that we could make this life a more pleasant life to live with surrendering our will and let God's will lead us always. (-fon-)

The Power of Peace

The devil works in turmoil, but the Holy Spirit works in peace. Exercise self-control to remain in peace always.
Provide a peaceful atmosphere in your home, business, church or ministry.
As you do so, you will be honoring the Word of God and the Spirit of God. You will reap the fruit of your obedience --- a power-filled, peaceful life.

[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
--- Romans 14:17

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Life which is led by the Holy Spirit would be a peaceful life. Whenever you feel that you're in a chaotic situation, beware, it might be the temptation from the devil.
Be aware of the temptation will lead us to a concentration on focusing to God. While we're doing so, we'll be trained to be more patient and peaceful, rather than distracted in facing this life. (-fon-)

TOTD, June 01-03

More Than Conquerors

God's power is greater than any problem. His victory swallows up all adverse circumstances. We can stand strong, as more than conquerors, when we know that He is with us.

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
--- Romans 8:37

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Adverse circumstances can come unexpectedly in our life. But as His Disciples, no need to be afraid. As we believe His power is greater than any problem that we're facing, we could feel secure because He's with us always... (-fon-)

Receive God's Mercy

Mercy is a gift of God's grace and His love; it has nothing to do with you and me except that we must learn to receive it.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
--- Hebrews 4:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The mercy of God is enough for us. Many times we failed to forgive ourselves even though God has already forgiven us long long time ago.
Learn to forgive ourselves and receive His mercy. (-fon-)

Jesus Has the Answers

You cannot answer all the "what ifs" in life. But as long as you know that Jesus is with you (He is with you if you've invited Him to be your Savior), you can be assured that He has all the answers you need.

" ... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
--- Matthew 28:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* It's common to do some imagination of what ifs in our mind. But the fact is what if is not real. The reality is different so that you only can only think, what if this and what if that...
With Jesus, we won't be worried because He's the path, the truth and the life.
He has all the answers which will be revealed according to His Time. (-fon-)
