Lord Almighty

Here’s the story of a familiar movie from the year of 2003, Bruce Almighty.
Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y., is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend Grace . At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God and God responds. Maybe, we have experienced that kind of thing. Be angry and put our rage against God. But, being God Himself has never been easy. As we can see that, Bruce, couldn’t do the part of being God wisely. Complaining has always been easy but when God responded and gave Him the power, could he do it any better? Nope…Everything was a mess… A very entertaining movie indeed…
So, don’t act as if we can be God. There’s none like Him. He’s the only Lord Almighty! (-fon-)

Endure

Today, the pastor gave a very good homily. He said that we always think that life is complicated. But, it’s not! We make it complicated.
Actually when we see the work of God, they are really simple. When we see the nature: bird, sea, sky, sun, moon, star, etc, they’re very simple. Compares to the gadget, the computer, the handphone – man made, more complicated.

According to James, if we want to ask for wisdom, we need to ask God and believe without any doubt. Because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
I believe it applies the same for any other things. Everything we need. Every single dream in our heart. We just ask Him, trust Him, and keep on believing without any doubt.
Yes, you might have doubtful times inside of you. Maybe when you see that it seems almost impossible to reach your deepest dreams. But, bring those doubts to God. As He will give you enough strength to believe in Him.

In the bible, we can see that the King praised God as Daniel was able to reveal the mystery. He said that Daniel’s God was the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries.

Put your hope in God. That’s the one and only thing that will make you better.

No Other Gods, but Him

Today’s homily of the Sunday missal at the church reminded me that we can have many gods besides Him. And other gods don’t always necessary means the statues, but could be our ego, our lust, or many more.

Thinking of our ego, how many times we ask God to fulfill our wish without thinking whether it’s important for us or not. We want God to be our slave, to follow whatever we want and fulfill them.

Maybe, this is a reminder for all of us. Let’s make our ego smaller and smaller, while God is bigger and bigger each day in our life. And we can proudly say, “ No other gods but YOU alone, God! “ (-fon-)

Divine Power

NTU Campus Tragedy: Student Reactions

He was a math genius who enjoyed computer gaming but on Monday morning, Nanyang Technological University student, David Hartanto Widjaja went crazy and stabbed his professor before slitting his own wrists and jumping down to his death. And you thought such things can never happen in Singapore schools.

So what could have made a student kill his teacher? Stress? Pressure? Too much computer gaming? Or simply madness?... (source: IZ Reloaded)


I believe this case is a shocking case and is being talked all over the town in Singapore and also Indonesia since he’s Indonesian citizen.
It’s quite sad, isn’t it?
I myself found it very sad, since David was supposed to have a very bright future with such a brain that he got that not belongs to everyone.
But, his death is still a mystery. Some said he was in a stress condition due to the cancellation of his scholarship, but we still don’t know yet.
I do pray for him. May the Lord forgive all his sins. And for us, let’s trust God once more. Believe Him that no problem is too big for Him. Don’t be terrified or discouraged. He will be with you wherever you go. (-fon-)

Forgive One Another

Pop star Rihanna and her singer boyfriend Chris Brown are back together, People magazine reported Friday on its Web site. The couple reportedly had been involved in a domestic abuse incident that led to charges against Brown, and a photo surfaced afterward that was said to be that of Rihanna's bruised face."They're together again," People magazine quoted its source as saying. "They care for each other." Rihanna had canceled a planned birthday bash in New York and postponed concerts overseas in the days following the incident. The pair now is at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs' homes, People reported. The magazine said Brown was "reflective and saddened about what happened."…(source: Fox News)

After seeing Rihanna’s bruised picture, I myself couldn’t stop thinking at that time, how could the boy friend did that to her.
But, Rihanna is really a good example of forgiving one another. We still don’t know what the final outcome will be. What will be the end of this relationship, either they’ll get married or not, but from what I see at this point of time, if only we could forgive one another, this world will sure be a better place to live. Faith in God

Oprah Winfrey said: “There’s only one way I’ve been able to survive being raped, molested…only one way to cope with fears of pregnancy, my mother on welfare…my faith in God got me through.”

After reading the statement from Oprah, I just realize once more that we can conquer fears with faith. The faith in God is something that will make us stand still strongly in any kind of disasters of life. And that includes worries, fears, problems, and anxieties. He is faithful now and forever.
