TOTD, July 26

Depend on God

Grace is God's enablement coming to us to help us do what we could not do without Him. God leaves us in a position where we must depend on Him and Him alone.

But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.
--- 1 Corinthians 15:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When everything's easy: you got enough money, your position in the office is safe, your family is healthy, your relationship with your spouse is terrific, you might feel that you don't need God's grace. Because everything's perfect with just keeping everything as it is.
But, what if things go wrong? Totally wrong??
You feel that you can't go on.
Everything you have ever had was disappear just like that, like being grabbed by force from you.
That's usually the time when you think, you can't never make it without God.
Well, as Christian, even though in our victory or glory, we need to know that we could never make it without His Grace.
Don't wait the condition to get worse until you realize God's grace!(-fon-)

Forgiveness Brings Healing

Receiving forgiveness for past mistakes and sins and forgiving other for their mistakes and sins are two of the most important factors in emotional healing.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
--- Ephesians 4:32

My own reflection on this Thought:
* I find myself hard to forgive. Especially forgiving my stupid mistakes in the past, and also forgiving others for what they've done to me.
Maybe that's you, who are in this condition right now.
Trust me, you're not alone. Lots of people, including me, find it hard to forgive.
But, we know that forgiveness brings us peace and healing. And we know that we have a merciful God whose mercy will always be enough for us.
He's able to fill us with the new love and forgiveness, just pray to Him! (-fon-)

TOTD, July 24

Go For It!

As a believer, you are free to have joy unspeakable and full of glory. So go for it! Make an effort to see how much you can enjoy your life!

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
--- 1 Peter 1:8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Enjoying our life is easy when everything runs smoothly.
But, what if everything seems so wrong, can we still enjoy our life?
It's very hard, I know, because I've been in that circumstance before.
Maybe at that time, your anger and hatred towards the condition, make you unable to see God's kindness.
One day, the bad condition will be over. One thing for sure, He will guide us always.
The problem is, could we still look for Him and praise Him in times of trouble?
Not easy, but that's what we should try to do...
God loves us, He won't leave us alone.
Enjoy this day that He has already made for us!(-fon-)

TOTD, July 23

Believe and See!

Some people are afraid to believe God. They think they may be setting themselves up for disappointment.
If you believe for a lot and even get half of it, you are better off than you would be to believe for nothing and get all of it.

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do, superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].
--- Ephesians 3:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Exceedingly and abundantly, far above that we could think or ask, that's what our father has already prepared for us, if we only believe in Him with all our hearts.
Even in the darkest moment of our life, He's able to turn things upside down, even the most stupid mistake in our opinion, might become a glory in His Time. He is able! (-fon-)

TOTD, July 20-22

The Mind Is the Battlefield

During a storm, remember that the mind is the battlefield.
Don't make your decisions based on your thoughts of feelings, but check with your spirit (your heart).

But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh ( of human nature without God).
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature)...
But if you are guide (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.
--- Galatians 5:16-18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* If you need to decide something, it's simple, just follow your heart. There's where your spirit is.
If your heart feels peaceful, most likely it's what the Spirit's telling you what to do.
Don't be distracted by your mind or feeling, just follow your heart! (-fon-)

Live Life Now!

If you have been waiting a long time for something you have been believing God for and have not seen much progress, you are probably getting very tired of waiting. I want to encourage you to take a fresh attitude toward waiting.

We learn from James 5:7 to be patient like the farmer who waits for the precious produce of the soil until it gets the early and late rain. The Word also says that while he waits for the seed to sprout, he rises up and goes to bed, and eventually it comes up (Mark 4:26,27). And he, the farmer, knows not how.

God has taught me these Scriptures to keep living the life I have now while I am waiting for things that are in my heart to come to pass. We can become so intent on trying to birth the next thing that we do not take care of and enjoy the things at hand.

Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!]...
--- Romans 5:3

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Be patient like a farmer? Come on, I'm not a farmer..
Maybe that's what you thought.
But today, we can learn from the farmer so that we can be a better person, with a better attitude towards waiting.
Waiting is very frustrating if we keep wondering when will the time come to achieve what God has promised to us.
But, there's no way we can escape waiting anyway.
So, the best thing to do is just: live today's life at the fullest, with full faith in God and trusting Him with all our hearts. (-fon-)

Acknowledge the Good Things

The communication of our faith to others is made effectual by acknowledging every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus, not by acknowledging every wrong thing with us.

[And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory].
--- Philemon 6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Seeing the good thing is not too easy especially when you're in a depressed situation.
But today's Word of God reminds us once more to do so, even it's hard.
Most of the time, we've already in a bad shape, realizing how many mistakes and wrong things we have made.
So, let's make this life of ours become easier by forgiving ourselves and see the beauty in us that God has already created. (-fon-)

TOTD, July 19

His Grace Is Sufficient

God never leads us where He cannot keep us. His grace is always sufficient for us--- in any and every circumstance.

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully], for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
--- 2 Corinthians 12:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Today's thought is really for me.
Quite some time ago I kept wondering why God must move me here, outside Indonesia --- far from family and friends, with all the adjustments needed while I was pregnant.
Really... it wasn't an easy thing!

But today's thought reminds me that He will never lead us where He can not keep us. So, He will be there for me and His grace is always enough for me.
So, what's your trouble today? What struggle that you're facing today?
Just remember that His grace will always sufficient for you and for me. (-fon-)

The Life-Changing Word

You can begin to change things in your life if you will take the Word of God and start to speak it over your life.

Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.
--- Mark 11:23

My own reflection on this Thought:
* If we're full of God's Word, our mindset would also changed and becoming more Christ-like.
All we need to do is just read the word and start to put the word into action.
God's Word is powerful. It can help us to be a better person. (-fon-)

Dwell in His Presence

We are empowered as we dwell in the presence of the Lord. Spending regular, quality time with God is one of the most important things we as believers can learn to do.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
--- Isaiah 40:31

My own reflection on this Thought:
* I have no time to pray. Maybe you've thought about this before. But actually, we can pray anywhere at anytime. In the middle of our activities, once we call His Name and start talk to Him, like sharing with a good friend, actually we've prayed already. Spend quality time with God also, while in that period of time we can really feel His Presence. God is everywhere. The question is: have you found Him today? (-fon-)

TOTD, July 16

Nobody's Perfect

One of the things that causes problems in relationships is the unrealistic expectation of perfection. In dealing with people, you must remember that it is impossible for them to behave perfectly. It is impossible for people, no matter how wonderful they are, to never make mistakes or say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.
--- Philippians 3:12

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Today's TOTD made me realize once again that NO ONE is perfect.
We might put our hope so high to one person that we thought as our favorite figure. We might become a big fan of one person. But still, that person is only human.
What we can do is just being realistic and ask God to give us a merciful heart to forgive others to for their mistakes. (-fon-)

Keep Running

God will take us and change us into something more than we could ever have dreamed --- if we will refuse to give up and just keep running the race that is set before us.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
--- Hebrews 12:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Change is a process in this life. We could never avoid it.
But as a Christian, our change would be perfect if it's a change in God.
In God, we'll be brought from one change to another. He has planned everything perfectly.
We're forever change in God... (-fon-)

Ask, and You Shall Receive

Ask God for what you want and desire, and trust Him to bring it His way when the time is right.

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him.,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and save them.
--- Psalm 145:18,19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* "He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him."
God will fulfill our desire only if we're fear Him. Don't hope too much if we've been acting recklessly and irresponsibly all these time.
Change our attitude with an obedience to God, He will fulfill our desire in His time.(-fon-)

God Sees Our Possibilities

It is so wonderful and comforting to know that when everyone else, including us, only sees our faults, God still sees our possibilities.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake, I am still with you.
--- Psalm 139: 14-18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God is merciful. Even we haven't forgiven ourselves, He has already done it.
All we can do is just accept His mercy and be thankful that He's still see our possibilities and He'll never give up on us.
So, don't give up on yourself! (-fon-)

TOTD, July 12

Confidence in the Name

We need more confidence in the Name of Jesus and less confidence in ourselves or anyone else to solve our problems. There is power in the Name of Jesus.

For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.
--- Romans 10:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* More of You, less of me.
That's the message of today's TOTD.
Jesus is the source of our strength. That includes solving the problem.
Nothing is greater than His power, so even we're in the midst of huge uncertainties within the problem, we have to be sure once more that He will be there to help us get through it. (-fon-)

Safe in the Potter's Hands

Preparation is a process that takes time. While God is preparing us to fulfill His purpose for our lives, His anointing is being released in us in perfectly timed capsules. The anointing is the Holy Spirit enabling us to do what God has called us to do.

During this time of preparation, the Holy Spirit teaches, corrects, sanctifies, helps, and strengthens us. He molds and fashions us into people He can use to minister to and bless the lives of others.

So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel.
But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
Then the word of the LORD came to me:
" O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?"
declares the LORD. " Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand..."
--- Jeremiah 18:3-6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand..."
These words are so true!
The process of being an awesome God's pottery needs all the shaping process which might be painful. But as the result we'll grow more mature in Him.
Don't let the painful process hurt us. But if we see from a different perspective, it might help us to become a better us in Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, July 10

No Condemnation in Christ

Walk free of condemnation and believe that when God said in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that His grace --- His mercy, favor, and ability --- was sufficient to cover even your sin. He meant it. He loves you, and His grace and forgiveness are free gifts.
Receive them today!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
--- Romans 8:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When God forgives us, He forgives everything. He forgives all the mistakes that we've done...
But we're facing our own problem, when we thought God hasn't forgiven us.
Or maybe we haven't forgiven ourselves.
This self-guilt drag us further from Him. Today, we need to know that His Love is so huge that it can forgives all of our sins.
Why don't we just receive His love and repent...?
Rather than keep blaming ourselves for our past...
Just remember He'll set us free from our sins, so don't condemn ourselves! (-fon-)

TOTD, July 09

Joy in Expectancy

Remain expectant every day for God to bring to pass what you are believing for no matter how long it takes. This is one of the things that will keep you flowing in joy.

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
--- Hebrews 3:6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In times of waiting, if we put a deadline to it, is frustrating.
But for many things in this life, we can't make any deadline.
Like getting a new job, getting your other half (your spouse), getting a baby, getting a new house, a new car.
Sometimes those things come unexpectedly, beyond our thoughts.
We need to remember that our time horizon is different with God's.
All we need to do is just keeping our faith in Him.
So, believing while waiting, make us rejoice in it! (-fon-)

Fullness Requires Thankfulness

I do not believe that God will release us into the fullness of all that He has planned for us until we become thankful for we have already been given.

Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your hearts to the Lord,
At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
--- Ephesians 5:19,20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Many times when we're disappointed with our condition, we're also complaining to God. Without realizing those complaints won't bring us anywhere.
Sometimes, it's not that easy to be thankful in the middle of 'everything- goes-wrong' life that's probably we're facing right now.
But only until we can really accept the worst condition that we're facing, God's grace will be poured more and more into our hearts and bring us to the next stage of our life in His wonderful plan. (-fon-)

Partners with God

God usually works in cooperation with man; we are partners with God. He will show us what we should do, but He won't do it for us in most instances. He will enable us, teach us, direct us, lead us, and guide us, but ultimately we must take a step of faith and act on His instructions, which are His Word.

The steps of a [good man] are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].
--- Psalm 37:23

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Our partnership with God is an active one. We need to change and empower ourselves with everything that will be needed along our life journey in this world. It is God who gives us all the thing that we need to have in this battle of life, but of course we need to fight and work hard as well...
Work hard plus pray hard makes a wonderful partnership in Him... (-fon-)

You Won't Sink

It is time for us to hold fast our confession of faith, and ride out the storms, knowing that God has His eye on everything, including us and the storm. He is faithful, and we can hold onto Him by holding onto His promises from the Word, knowing that He will not allow us to sink.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
--- Hebrews 10:23

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In the wavy life we're facing, it's hard to be convinced that we're not going to sink.
God is faithful and we need to comprehend it.
Not only He was faithful yesterday, but today and forever, his faithfulness won't ever change.
So, we won't sink because our faithful God cares about us a lot! (-fon-)

Abide in the Word

A person who learns to abide in the Word and let the Word abide in him will have power in prayer. When an individual has power in prayer, he has power over the enemy, Satan.

According to John 8:31,32 to abide means to remain, to continue in, or to dwell in. Abide in the Word, and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free (v.32).

People who make the Word of God a small part of their lives will know only partial truth and will experience only limited freedom.
Those who abide in it --- who daily read it, confess it, listen to teaching and music tapes that are filled with it --- will know the full truth and will experience complete freedom.

The more you leave your mind unregulated to wander around or become idle, the more the devil will try to fill it. Keep it filled with the Word, and you will have less trouble.

If you live in Me[abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
--- John 15:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* To make our mind occupied, it's the best to read the Word and memorize some of it. Let our mind be the CD player of the Word of God, so that it will cast away all the negative thoughts and change it with a new hope in GOD.
Otherwise, we'll be very tired in trying to get out of the bitterness and the wound that come repeteadly in our mind only to bring more hatred and pain..
Fill your mind with God's Word, and you'll see the difference! (-fon-)

Forget Your Problems!

If you and I are to make our way prosperous and have good success in this life, We will definitely need to put our thoughts and words on something other than the problem that faces us.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, and thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
--- Joshua 1:8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Don't focus on your problems, that's the message of today's TOTD.
Look for God instead!
To become a winner in this life, we need to 'forget our problems' and concentrate on God. That's when new ideas, new solutions, new ways, that have never came across our mind would appear. By the Holy Spirit's ministry, everything is possible. (-fon-)

TOTD, July 03

Count Your Way to Joy

Depression is the result of looking at what we don't have and can't do. Joy is the result of being thankful for every little thing we have and counting ourselves blessed just to be alive and to know Jesus as our Lord.

Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
--- Hebrews 13:15

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Have you ever been in a depression? Or in a very stressful situation?
Usually at that time, our thoughts dominate everything. So that we can't even think of the goodness of our God.
In such situation, it's good to sit back for a while. See the simple things that God has already given to us. Give thanks to every little of it, then you'll find new strength to face the stressful situation with a new hope in God...
Not easy, but worth to try! (-fon-)

Hope in God

Put your hope in God, and you will never be disappointed or put to shame.

...And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.
Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shame us, for God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.
--- Romans 5:2,5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Hope disappoints us maybe that's what you've been thinking all this time. If it is a hope to something or someone in this world, I'll be agree with you. You'll be disappointed.
But if it's a hope in God, especially when we think about eternity and all His faithfulness in His Promises in our life, I'll say He'll never disappoint us.
Put your hopes in God, not in everything or everyone else...(-fon-)

TOTD, July 01

Don't Be Fooled!

Satan does not want you to fulfill God's plan for your life because you are part of his ultimate defeat. (See Revelation 20:1-3). If he can make you think and believe that you are incapable, then you won't even try to accomplish anything worthwhile.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
--- Ephesians 6:12

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In case you're facing a failure, your mind tend to drag you on this thinking: you're not good at anything at all, you're incapable, you're a failure.
I know and I myself have experienced failure. And to tell you the truth, sometimes the failing experience is very hard to accept.
But, don't let the evil influence your mind in that circumstances. Try to be closer to God so that we'll be able to understand His Plan more. (-fon-)

TOTD, June 29-30

Wait with Joy

We are going to wait no matter what we do. Waiting is a fact of life. Our attitude, and how we act during the wait, will determine whether we enjoy the trip. It will also help determine the lengths of the trip.

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
--- Romans 8:25

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When you hear the word ' wait', what's the first thing pop up on your mind?
It could be boring, long, frustrating, depressing, stressful...
But as the disciples of God, today's Word of God reminds us to be joyful in waiting. And even though it seems that no hope at all in those waiting time, we have to rejoice in it. Because we wait in faith to God. By waiting in faith, a hope will grow. A hope that will always be there, when we trust ourselves and our future in His Hand. (-fon-)

"Due Season"

"Due season" is when God knows we are ready, not when we think we are ready.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
--- Galatians 6:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Our thinking is far different with God's.
When we thought we're ready, that doesn't mean He thinks we're ready yet.
Trust Him, because we know that He knows the best for us and His timing is perfect. (-fon-)
