TOTD, February 28 – What Does the Spirit of God Give Us?

What Does the Spirit of God Give Us?

The Spirit of God will give us power, love, and self-discipline. Cling onto the Lord, through the Spirit…So, that we can live a better life in Him. (-fon-)

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

TOTD, February 27- Love with Action

Love with Action

A good suggestion from the verse today:

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

--- 1 John 3:18

Loving words are important, but not as important as our actions towards our beloved ones. And moreover we need to love in truth, like what God has already shown us through the years. Let’s begin to love more with action and in truth.

TOTD, February 26 - Our Help is in the Name of the Lord

Our Help is in the Name of the Lord

Search for no more.

If we feel very hopeless, no one to turn to in times of problems… We still have the greatest help from the Lord. He might work in various magical ways through the people surround us, through e-mail, message, phone calls… Through many unthinkable things but yet could help us change our attitude and see the problems from different perspective.

Never doubt Him because He’s the Maker of heaven and earth.

(-fon-)

Our help is in the name of the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

--- Psalm 124:8

TOTD, February 25 – Be Strong and Take Heart

Be Strong and Take Heart

If you’re hoping on something and you’ve prayed a lot about it to the Lord… But it’s not happened yet….

Be strong and take heart… For if we put our hopes in the Lord, He knows and He has planned everything for our life. Sometimes, He doesn’t give us what we expected…But for sure, what He gives is definitely the best for us-according to His Plans. Just trust Him.

(-fon-)

Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the LORD.

--- Psalm 31:24

TOTD, February 24 – Effort to Add Up Our Faith

Effort to Add Up Our Faith

As faith grows, we need to make sure that we make every effort to add up our faith. Goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection and love. So we’ll keep our effectiveness and productivity in our knowledge of Jesus Christ and more importantly it must be shown in our daily life. (-fon-)

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

TOTD, March 23 – God Knows Everything

God Knows Everything
When the King Nebuchadnezzar had dreams, he wanted all the wise man, magician or diviner in his kingdom to interpret his dreams. But, nobody was able to do so. Until Daniel came and explained everything he saw. But, Daniel knew that the source of the revelation was from God Himself. Not by his might, not by his power.. But by the power of God.
We tend to like certainties. And in order to get those certainties, we sometimes want to see the diviner to know our future. But actually, search for no more. God knows everything. All we need to do is just believe. Because He knows the best for us. Just put more faith in Him. (-fon-)

Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.

--- Daniel 2:27-28

TOTD, February 22: Worship God with Gladness

Worship God with Gladness

It is important that we come to seek His presence with a joyful heart. Worship Him with gladness in spirit and in truth, come before Him with joyful songs. He loves to hear our joy being dedicated to Him.

Of course, there are moments that we go to Him in tears, with burdens, and cast our worries to Him… But, when we’re happy, in good times of our life, let’s also remember that He’s the source of that happiness. Let’s worship Him with gladness with all our heart. (-fon-)

Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

--- Psalm 100:2

TOTD, February 19-21: About Devotion

Devoted to God

It’s not that we don’t need the money to live. Money is something that’s crucial in this life. But, becoming someone who devotes himself to money with neglecting any other good values, virtues, and especially God – is not a wise thing to do. Let’s starting this day with devotion to the Lord. For He’s the source of everything in this life. Amen. (-fon-)

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

--- Luke 16:13

Be Devoted to one another

As God loved us so much, we need to be devoted to one another in love as well. It’s not always been easy, but we need to try our best and let God be our source of neverending love and mercy towards others. (-fon-)

Be devoted to one another in love.

--- Romans 12:10

Devote Ourselves to Prayer

Devote ourselves to prayer. For prayer will bring us closer to God. Being thankful and watchful. Being able to soften our hearts and let God reign in our life. Because He’s the Lord Almighty forever and ever. (-fon-)

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

--- Colossians 4:2

TOTD, February 18 – Christ Lives in Me

Christ Lives in Me

After we acknowledged Christ and He reigns in our life… This is the way it should be: we’ve been crucified with Him and no longer live for ourselves, but He lives in us. Let’s remember this, so that we could live our life amazingly in Him. (-fon-)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

TOTD, February 17 – Worrying vs Faith

Worrying vs Faith

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

--- Matthew 6:27

A good question from Matthew 6: can any of us by worrying add a single hour to our life? We know the answer, but yet keep on worrying at the same time. We need to develop more faith in Him so that we can cast our fear or worry to Him. Believing in Him one more time that He’s able to do anything in this life. (-fon-)

TOTD, February 16: God is Greater than Anything Else

God is Greater than Anything Else

God is greater than our hearts. He’s even greater than our mind. He’s greater than anything else in this world. He knows everything. Just simply because He’s God. (-fon-)

If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

--- 1 John 3:20

TOTD, February 15 – He Sent His Son for Us

He Sent His Son for Us

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

--- 1 John 4:10

God sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. That’s the real love that we could experience from Him. He loves us that much…Never take His love as a granted. (-fon-)

TOTD, February 13-14: God’s Love

Lavished with Great Love

We’re so lucky to be surrounded by God’s great love. Look around, even in the midst of the problems or disasters… We’re actually lavished with Great love from the Father. Thanks be to God! (-fon-)

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

--- 1 John 3:1

God So Loved the World

Valentine’s Day. Reminds me of how our great God loved the world so much. He loves us very much so actually, everyday is a Valentine’s Day because He showers us with so much love in everyday of the way. He loved us that much, that He gave His only Son to this world. Let’s celebrate our life as a thanksgiving always, because He loved us unconditionally. (-fon-)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

--- John 3:16

TOTD, February 12 – Love Rejoices with the Truth

Love Rejoices with the Truth

Valentine’s Day is coming soon. This big celebration of love will spread its charm everywhere. But I myself will also look at the meaning of love from the Bible. Like the verses from 1 Corinthians 13: 6-7 today… Love rejoices with the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and always perseveres. Even in the midst of the warmth of Valentine’s Day, let’s not forget the essence of true love. The message of love from God Himself. (-fon-)

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

TOTD, February 11 – Nothing without Love

Nothing without Love

The First book of Corinthians reminds us about love. Even we’re so gifted, such an expert in many things, having greatest faith that can move the mountain… Really, we’re nothing without love. Let’s try to put love into action. (-fon-)

If I speak in the tonguesa]"> of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,b]"> but do not have love, I gain nothing.

--- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

TOTD, February 10 – Thanking God for Growing in Faith

Thanking God for Growing in Faith

We’re hoping for growing in faith. And if it happened that our faith is growing quite rapidly, we need to thank God for that. Because without Him, it’s quite impossible to do so. One of the sign that our faith is growing: we’re supposed to love others better. Increasing in love, decreasing in anger or vengeance towards others, more merciful…
Hopefully today is the day! The day that we’re growing more in faith, stronger in love which comes from Him alone. (-fon-)

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters,a]"> and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.

TOTD, February 09 – Straighten Up Our Thinking

Straighten Up Our Thinking

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?

--- Mark 2:8

Jesus knows our thinking. That’s why we need to straighten up our thinking and draw ourselves near Him. Because we know that by clinging to Him, we’ll find so many changes in our thinking and attitude to be a better person in Him. From our thoughts many things will happen into action, so it’s very important to stay positive and let God be our guide in each thought that popped up in our mind. (-fon-)

TOTD, February 08 – You Knew the Anguish of My Soul

You Knew the Anguish of My Soul

If our soul is in deep anguish, it’s a normal reaction to say like what is written in the book of Psalm:

My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, LORD, how long?

--- Psalm 6:3

We keep wondering to the Lord, how long we need to experience this kind of suffering- this kind of deep anguish?

Then, after a while… When the problem is over, we begin to develop a new faith. We’ll be glad and rejoice in Your love, for You God, saw our affliction and knew the anguish of our soul.

Yes, life will be full of unpredictable problems, but we need to believe that God will never leave us and He knows every single sadness or anguish that we feel…

Keep the faith, keep praying, keep waiting for His time to come.

(-fon-)

I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.

--- Psalm 31:7

TOTD, February 07- Pursue Righteousness and Love

Pursue Righteousness and Love

Whoever pursues righteousness and love
finds life, prosperity
a]"> and honor.

--- Proverbs 21:21

We need to remember what to pursue in this life. Of course we’ll pursue happiness. Some of us thought we’ll get it from money, fame, beauty… But the book of Proverbs reminds us to pursue righteousness and love-of course the ones from God Himself- so that we’ll find life, prosperity, and honor. (-fon-)

TOTD, February 06- In Trouble? Let’s Pray…

In Trouble? Let’s Pray…

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray

---James 5:13

Let’s be reminded that we don’t need to run while we’re having problem. We need to face it bravely and pray. With the courage of God and His strength, hopefully we can face it better. In faith, in the change of heart towards a better attitude, hopefully we can see from different perspective. God is able to help us. (-fon-)

TOTD, February 05 – His Power is Made Perfect in Weakness

His Power is Made Perfect in Weakness

We keep thinking about our weaknesses. Sometimes the thoughts are just so overwhelmingly high, then we’ll become frustrated whenever we think of those weaknesses. But, His power is made perfect in weakness. We need to realize that, we can’t do everything on our own. Yes, we must try our very best in each step of the way of our life, but it doesn’t mean that we need to become boastful whenever we reach something great. Remember that without God, we’re nothing. With His power, we’ll be able to get through a lot of things in this life, even in our weaknesses. (-fon-)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

--- 2 Corinthians 12:9

TOTD, February 04 – Let Love and Faithfulness Never Leave Us

Let Love and Faithfulness Never Leave Us

Even in faithless and lack of love world, let’s pray that love and faithfulness never leave us. Let them be with us forever, bind them around our neck and write them on the tablet of our heart… Because we know that we have the source of never-ending love and faith in God Himself. (-fon-)

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

--- Proverbs 3:3-4

TOTD, February 03 – Celebrate Your Abundant Goodness

Celebrate Your Abundant Goodness

The Vietnamese is celebrating the Lunar New Year which they called Tet. It will be a one week holiday here, where people celebrate-gathering with family and friends, and of course having a holiday!

For us, Christians… Everyday is actually a day to celebrate. Celebrate Your abundant goodness in our life, O Lord… And joyfully sing of Your righteousness forever and ever!

Let’s celebrate our days with love-with the abundance of His love that’s being showered to our life. (-fon-)

They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

--- Psalm 145:7

TOTD, February 02 – New Song and Praise to God

New Song and Praise to God

New day has come. Let’s sing a new song unto the Lord. Let’s praise Him with all our heart and soul. Because He’s been so good to us and He deserves to get all the glory-honor-and praises.

(-fon-)

He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the LORD
and put their trust in him.

--- Psalm 40:3
