TOTD, February 01 – Forgiving and Good

Forgiving and Good

The Lord is forgiving and good. Even we thought that we’re so sinful, but yet He loves us so much that He will forgive whatever misdeeds that we’ve made. Just to make sure that we won’t spend our days in taking this as a granted. We need to try our best not to disappoint Him. Yes, we might make mistake along the way, but let’s try not to do it too much intentionally because that might hurt Him as well…

Treasure His love by giving our best in our everyday life. (-fon-)

You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.

--- Psalm 86:5

TOTD, January 31 – Let Your Light Shine

Let Your Light Shine

Faith without good character in daily life, won’t shine. That’s why we need to develop a good character to set an example in this life. Let our light shine, let the people see our good deeds, and glorify our Father in heaven. (-fon-)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

--- Matthew 5:16

TOTD, January 30- Wait for the Lord

Wait for the Lord

I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.

--- Psalm 130:6-7

Have you ever waited for the Lord so bad? Like what the Psalmist described as: more than watchmen wait for the morning? If you’re doing so, be patient… Let’s put our hope in the Lord and keep on believing His unfailing love will come to rescue us. Let’s wait for the Lord wholeheartedly. (-fon-)

Precious and Honored

How deep is His love for us? Well, we’re not only precious and honored in His sight, but also He loves us soooo much! Don’t ever feel unworthy anymore, because we’re His precious children. (-fon-)

and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.

TOTD, January 27 - Humble Ourselves, He Will Lift Us Up

Humble Ourselves, He Will Lift Us Up

There’s nothing to boast or even to show off in front of the Lord. Everything we have is a gift from Him. So, humble ourselves before the Lord will be a great advice from the book of James. For whoever humbles himself, will be lifted up. (-fon-)

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

--- James 4:10

TOTD, January 25 – Watch Ourselves

Watch Ourselves

If we know that someone is doing a sin, we should restore the person gently. The requirement that needs to be there: we must live by the Spirit. By doing something good like that, we must remember as well to watch ourselves, because there’s a possibility that we may be tempted as well. Feel that we’re good, we’re fabulous or awesome will lead into the high-pride and arrogance. And we must remember that we also can be caught in a sin. Stay humble. (-fon-)

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

--- Galatians 6:1

But, in faith we believe that: no matter how bad the situation might be, we’ll still have peace of God that will always guard our hearts and minds.

(-fon-)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

--- Philippians 4:7

In This Morning, Lord

TOTD, January 21- Christ Has Set Us Free

Christ Has Set Us Free

Christ has set us free, let’s stand firm and don’t let ourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. This is a very strong message as well as reminder for us from the book of Galatians. We all have past, we all sins from the past. But let’s not dwell in the slavery of our past sins… Be strong, become new creature in Christ and start to value ourselves more because we’re all His children. (-fon-)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

--- Galatians 5:1

TOTD, January 20 - Do to Others What You Would Have Them Do to You

Do to Others What You Would Have Them Do to You

The title of today’s Thought of the Day is quite long, but it doesn’t change the fact that nobody like being hurt or being neglected.

As we want others do to us, do to others what we would have them do to us. Of course, we need process and time to be better. And it’s not that easy to be that kind-hearted all the time, we’re human after all. But, let’s try our best to do it starting today. (-fon-)

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

--- Matthew 7:12

TOTD, January 19 – Dealing with Temptations

Dealing with Temptations

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

--- 1 Corinthians 10:13

God is faithful, He won’t let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. But, we need to put our faith in Him. With His help and our strong will, we must believe that we’ll be able to face temptations in this life. We believe that He will provide a way out so that we can endure it but of course we ourselves must do our best with all our strength. (-fon-)

TOTD, January 18- Do It with Love

Do It with Love

Stop complaining, start to develop a positive attitude in this life. Like what the bible always reminds us:

TOTD, January 15-17: Living in Spirit, Crucifying the Flesh

Live in Accordance with the Spirit

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

--- Romans 8:5

As a human, we realize that the flesh will always be a part of us. But it doesn’t mean that we have to follow whatever the flesh desires… Moreover, we need to live in accordance with the Spirit… Have our minds set on what the Spirit desires… Let’s live such life…(-fon-)

Walk by the Spirit

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

--- Galatians 5:16

Let’s walk in our daily life by the Spirit and not gratifying the desires of the flesh. Let’s try our best to do this in each day of our life.

(-fon-)

Crucify the Flesh

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

--- Galatians 5:24

For those who belong to Christ Jesus, we need to learn to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. We might realize that they’re exist, but we choose to not following them but following the Holy Spirit instead. (-fon-)

TOTD, January 14 – Like Clay in Potter’s Hand

Like Clay in Potter’s Hand

So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

Then the word of the LORD came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

--- Jeremiah 18:3-6

The process of moulding and shaping from clay to pot or other shapes of pottery will not be an easy one. Sometimes it needs time, process, and it also can be a painful one.

We need to believe that we’re safe in His hands. Like clay in potter’s hand, we need to trust Him and let Him shape our life according to His will. (-fon-)

TOTD, January 13 – Future in God

Future in God

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ's sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It's because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.

--- 1 Peter 1:18-21

Even though our past was so bad or so painful, we still need to believe that we have future in God-the One who has already sacrificed Himself for us. (-fon-)

TOTD, January 12 – Wait Patiently for the Lord

Wait Patiently for the Lord

Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

--- Psalm 27:14

God’s timing sometimes is completely different with ours. That’s why we need to trust Him and wait patiently for His time. (-fon-)

TOTD, 11 January – Into a Spacious Place

Into a Spacious Place

What do we usually do when hard pressed? When we stressed out? This is a very good suggestion from the book of Psalm:

When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD;
he brought me into a spacious place.
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?

--- Psalm 118:5-6

We need to seek the Lord. Or as described by the Psalmist as cry to the Lord. He will bring us into a spacious place. Sometimes the spacious place that He meant is different with what we thought. It might be in the form of faith, believing in Him once again. Surrendering our life and know that God is God. Let God be God… If He’s with me, I will not be afraid. (-fon-)

TOTD, January 09-10: Seeking God

Seek with All Your Heart

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

--- Jeremiah 29:12-13

Heart is all that matters. When we pray, come to Him, and seek Him with all of our hearts, we will find Him. (-fon-)

Seek Him and Dwell in House

One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

--- Psalm 27:4

Seek Him and dwell in the house of the Lord all days of my life.

That’s what I really want to do…

To gaze Your beauty, O Lord and feel the peace beyond compare… (-fon-)

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

--- Ephesians 5:1-2

God is love. If we follow His examples, hopefully we can walk in the way of love. (-fon-)

His Love Never Quits

Thank God! He deserves your thanks. His love never quits.

--- Psalm 136:1

If you’re wondering, if He loves you or not…

Here’s the assurance from today’s verse: His love never quits. Sometimes we think that He forgets us or not being there for us. But the fact is: His unconditional love is there forever for us.

Give thanks, celebrate, for His love. It never quits! (-fon-)

TOTD, January 04- Self-Controlled and Upright

Self-Controlled and Upright

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age…

---Titus 2:11-12

By God’s grace, we’ll be able to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age. Things that seemed impossible for the world that’s full of ungodliness and worldly passions… But, we’ll be able to make it through with faith and His guidance, as long as we try our best to reach that kind of life-style in Him. (-fon-)
