Nothing Can Make Us Stumble

As long as we live according to His law, nothing can make us stumble. Yes, we might sometimes feel down, but as long as we believe in Him, we’ll get the kind of faith that keep going strong. Amen. (-fon-)

Great peace have they who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.

--- Psalm 119:165

Glorify You, Oh Lord!

OUR LIVES GLORIFY GOD when we live in loving relationship with one another. Our lives glorify God when we offer hospitality to those who need our care and support. Our lives glorify God when we use the unique gifts that God has given to each of us, not to bring attention to ourselves but for healing, edifying, encouraging, and serving others.

- Paul Wesley Chilcote
A Life-Shaping Prayer: 52 Meditations in the Wesleyan Spirit (upper room website).

Hopefully our life will be the kind of life that tries hard to glorify You, Oh Lord! In whatever we do, in whatever action that we take, that’s our prayer…Let it be a life that glorify Him. (-fon-)

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever.

--- Psalm 86:12

The Beauty of the Nature

One of the best ways to stay thankful to the Lord is to watch the nature closely, look at its beauty, and admiring the work of God. He’s so good to us! Maybe this has been long forgotten, because we’re just to busy to see. Take a little time to admire the beauty of the nature. It might only be a rainbow that comes after the rain, it might be the butterfly that flies near your window… But, hey! They’re all God’s creation. God is amazing! (-fon-)

The birds nest beside the streams
and sing among the branches of the trees.

--- Psalm 104:12

He Loves Us So Much

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

--- Romans 8:32

He gave His Son to this world. How could he not give us all things? Of course all things mean the things we need, not always the things we want. Just believe that He loves us so much that He understands every need of us.

Taste and See His Goodness in Our Life

“PRAISE TO YOU, my God and Creator!
Your creativity is matched by your compassion!
Today is a new day in the life of creation.
Let me see and hear,
taste, touch, and smell
the thrill of your grace
the pulse of the Spirit
in and through all creation.”

- Sam Hamilton-Poore
Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation (upperroom website)

Today is the new day to taste and see, touch and smell, His goodness in our life. (-fon-)

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

--- Psalm 34:8

Be Thankful and Worship Him

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe

--- Hebrews 12:28

He Created Our Inmost Being

“Knitted together” is how the psalmist described the process of God making man. Not manufactured or mass-produced, but knitted. Each thread of personality tenderly intertwined. Each string of temperament deliberately selected . . .The Creator, the master weaver, threading together the soul. Each one different. No two alike. None identical. (Max Lucado).

See how special we’re. How unique each and every one of us. He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. Never think that we’re not worthy. We’re so special for Him. (-fon-)

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Do not be Afraid

God has granted us with His peace. The peace beyond our understanding. Sometimes, we might feel hopeless because our heart is troubled. But once again, He reminds us not to be afraid. As long as we got Him in our life. Let’s believe that He’ll shower us with abundant joy and peace even in the midst of a stormy life. (-fon-)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Patient in Affliction

Maybe we’re in the midst of a problem. We don’t know what to do, we’ve done our best to find the solutions, but yet it seems no way out. The bible reminds us to stay patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. And let’s be joyful in hope, because we believe that God will make a way for us. (-fon-)

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Purify Ourselves

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

--- 2 Corinthians 7:1

Let everyday be the day to put an effort to purify ourselves as a reflection of His Holiness in this life. Of course, we might rise and fall in doing this, but let’s put our heart in doing that. I’m sure, at least there’ll be some progress in our character. (-fon-)

We Belong to the Lord

If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

--- Romans 14:8

Let’s live our life to the fullest in Him and keep on believing that no matter what: we belong to the Lord (-fon-).

The Lost Sheep

“Be happy with me because I found my lost sheep.”

--- Luke 15:6

Jesus was so happy when he found the lost sheep. So, if we feel lost like one of the sheep, don’t worry, he’ll very happy to find us again. We’re worthy in His eyes. (-fon-)

Breath of God

Let’s pray that the Holy Spirit, the breath of God, breathe new life into us. Bringing good things, taking away all the bad things. And getting back on track to His direction:

COME, SPIRIT, breath of God, breathe new life into me. Blow away the cobwebs in my mind: clear away the debris in my soul. Bring healing to my wounds and comfort to my grief. Refresh my spirit, set my feet to dancing, and set my heart ablaze. Wind of God, touch my life and open me to your direction. Amen.

- Larry James Peacock

the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Ever-Present Help in Trouble

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.

--- Psalm 46:1

When we feel hopeless, we think that no one can really help us. Not even God. But, we need to remember that He will be there in every moment of our life. He’s our ever-present help in times of needs. Look for no other. Just keep on praying to Him (-fon-)

You are not Forgotten

We sometimes scared that God will forget us. Especially when we’re facing so many problems at the same time. But actually, the Bible reminds us that even the sparrows won’t be forgotten by Him. Even the very hairs of our head are all numbered. You are worthy in His Eyes. You are not forgotten, He loves you so much! (-fon-)

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Obey Your Parents

Oh, yes, we’ve heard lots of things about parents who do not treat their children well. But, more than that, we still can see that there’s many parents even they’re not perfect, they always try hard to be the best parents for their children. So, we need to obey our parents in the Lord. With His Love, I’m sure we can accept our parents with their imperfection. And someday, if we got the chance to become parent, we know that it’s not easy to become a wise one. We need His guidance too! (-fon-)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."a]">4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

--- Ephesians 6:1-4

We Give You Thanks

Let our days be days of thanksgiving and praise to the Lord. (-fon-)

We give thanks to you, O God,
we give thanks, for your Name is near;
men tell of your wonderful deeds.

--- Psalm 75:1

Put on A New Nature

Maybe in the past we’ve been doing some mistakes, but let the Holy Spirit renew our thoughts and attitudes as we live in Christ now. Put on a new nature, as we created to be like God-righteous and holy like Him. (-fon-)

22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Love is Patient

The Greek word used here for patient . . . means “taking a long time to boil.” Think about a pot of boiling water . . . Water boils quickly when the flame is high. It boils slowly when the flame is low. Patience “keeps the burner down.”

Patience isn’t naive. It doesn’t ignore misbehavior. It just keeps the flame low. It waits. It listens . . . This is how God treats us. And, according to Jesus, this is how we should treat others. (Max Lucado)

I love what Max Lucado wrote. Patience isn’t na├»ve, it just keeps the flame low. Jesus has treated us that way, let’s try to treat others with patience. (-fon-)

“Love is patient.” I Corinthians 13:4
