TOTD, April 29 – Christ’s Mindset

Christ’s Mindset

In relationship with another, let’s try to be more like Jesus. Not to put ourselves too high. Because even Jesus didn’t consider His equality with God as being something that can be used for His own advantage… But, He takes the very nature of servant, being made in human likeness…Humbled Himself till death on the cross.

Today, I’d like to follow His footsteps. Not that easy, but of course as I try for something good. May God bless every heart that wants to be a better person in Christ. Amen. (-fon-)

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

TOTD, April 27- Wordless Groans

Wordless Groans

Sometimes we don’t know how to pray. We can’t find enough words to express our feeling-our worries, our sadness. Those wordless groans can be interceded by the Holy Spirit. It will help us in our weakness and help us to send them to the Father. He knows our heart, our worries, our fears. Just find the way to get nearer to Him no matter what happens in our life. (-fon-)

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

--- Romans 8:26

TOTD, April 28-Future Hope in God

Future Hope in God

We can trust our future and put our hope in God. As we know that life might bring us down. But for those who keep their hopes in the Lord will not be disappointed. (-fon-)

There is surely a future hope for you,
and your hope will not be cut off.

--- Proverbs 23:18

TOTD, April 26 – Rely on God’s Love

Rely on God’s Love

God is love. When we rely on the source of love and the love itself, it’s always sure that we’ll find the real and unconditional love that won’t disappoint us. Let’s rely on His love. (-fon-)

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

--- 1 John 4:16

TOTD, April 25 – God’s Invisible Qualities

God’s Invisible Qualities

No need to doubt His invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature- because according to the verse today: it has been clearly seen. It’s always good to know that He’s invisible – eternal – forever powerful, so that we can cling to Him and ask for His guidance in this life. He’s invisible beyond compare, He’s God. (-fon-)

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

--- Romans 1:20

TOTD, April 21 – All Things Came From God

All Things Came from God

Having a low self-esteem is somehow happened to many of us. Even though outside it looks like we’re fine, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t have any unworthy feeling inside.

Watching Masterchef US, I found Whitney Miller. A young lady from a small city or maybe can be called a village because it’s so small… Coming from Poplarville, Mississippi with its population only around 2600 people based on the year 2000 census… But, hey… This young girl won the competition. Only 22 years old, coming from small town, didn’t make her stop her dreams in becoming a Masterchef and crowned as the winner.

All things are possible in God… And we believe, all things came from God… Nothing is impossible if He wants to. Work hard, pray hard, and do our best to reach our dreams and passions… Hopefully one day we’ll see ourselves achieving whatever we’ve dreamt of … According to His Plans in our life.

(-fon-)

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

--- 1 Corinthians 8:6

TOTD, April 20- Answer Me, Lord

Answer Me, Lord

The Psalmist had experienced some bad times and problems. He asked to the Lord: “Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me.”

We sometimes need a quick answer. An instant one, right away-right here, right now. But in some ways, God has His own plans for us. Sometimes we need to wait for His answers while at some other times, His answers were not exactly what we want… We need to be patient in waiting His answers. Even though it’s hard, but we need to learn to wait on Him for answering our prayers and problems… He knows the best for us. Trusting Him is the best thing to do. (-fon-)

Answer me, LORD, out of the goodness of your love;
in your great mercy turn to me.

--- Psalm 69:16

TOTD, April 19-You’re Our Father

You’re Our Father

“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”

--- 2 Corinthians 6:18

In so many ways, we feel that we’re fatherless. Either it’s being separated because of death or a divorce. Or maybe simply just because our father doesn’t have enough time for us-busy with his work, his own thing, etc.

But in God, the true father is very real. Once we’ve accepted him and begin an intimate relationship with Him, we can connect with Him deeply. His Fatherhood is worthy because it’s completely different with the father figure that we have in this world. Proudly and gratefully, we can say thanks for being our Father, Lord. (-fon-)

TOTD, April 16-18: About living in faith

Living our Faith

Pope John Paul II once wrote: "It is urgent to rediscover and to set forth once more the authentic reality of the Christian faith, which is not simply a set of propositions to be accepted with intellectual assent. Rather, faith is a lived knowledge of Christ, a living remembrance of his commandments and a truth to be lived out.

It’s so true that faith is a lived knowledge of Christ, a living remembrance of his commandments and a truth to be lived out (as what Pope John Paul II wrote). So, whatever happens, we need to keep the faith, living our faith and standing firm with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Live our life in truth and do our best to show the world in a good conduct and good manner. (-fon-)

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel

--- Philippians 1:27

Faith Deepens Understanding

Hopefully our faith will deepen our understanding of every good thing in Christ. Faith and our faithfulness will be noticed through the good things we spread to this world. May we grow one step closer in achieving it. Amen.

(-fon-)

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

--- Philemon 1:5

May Christ Dwell in Us Through Faith

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

--- Ephesians 3:17

May we have peace at heart, because Christ dwell in us through faith. (-fon-)

TOTD, April 15- I Love You, Lord, My Strength!

I Love You, Lord, My Strength!

Alone, far far away from home. It was the initial feeling that I’ve experienced when I moved from Indonesia and stayed outside of the country.

To whom should I depend myself? No friend, not knowing much of the country? There’s time that I felt so lonely, but hey, here’s the hope that I’ve always had in my heart: the Lord is my Rock, my Fortress. In Him, I take refuge. With my strength, I know that it will be impossible. But with His strength and guidance, I know and keep my faith that He’s always giving a new way to understand and learn. Giving new unthinkable ways in times of help through the people surround me.

In this moment, let me share the feeling of love to Him. I Love You, Lord, My Strength! (-fon-)

I love you, LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

--- Psalm 18:1-2

TOTD, April 14 – Let God Glorify

Let God Glorify

Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me…

--- John 8:54

Even Jesus could say that if He glorified Himself, His glory meant nothing. The true glorification comes from the Father. Let God glorify us, not ourselves. (-fon-)

TOTD, April 13 – Wailing Into Dancing

Wailing Into Dancing

Thanks to the Lord who has made our wailing turned into dancing. He removed our sorrows and changed it with joy. Let’s believe that He’s able to do that, even the reality seems very hard at the moment…. Keep on believing that He is able. Jesus, I trust in You. (-fon-)

You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
LORD my God, I will praise you forever

--- Psalm 30:11-12

TOTD, April 09-11: About Wisdom

Teach Us to Number Our Days in Wisdom

Here’s my prayer today, Lord….

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Amen.

(-fon-)

Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

--- Psalm 90:12

Let Our Mouth Speaks Wisdom

The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak what is just.

--- Psalm 37:30

Let’s pray that our mouths speak wisdom, our tongues speak what is just. Let’s try our best to do so… Becoming better and better in wisdom and understanding of this life… Guided by God’s wisdom, hopefully we can become a better person. (-fon-)

The Lord Gives Wisdom

We believe that God will lead every heart that seeks Him with all strength. We believe that if we seek God’s wisdom, He’ll show us the way. (-fon-)

For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

--- Proverbs 2:6

TOTD, April 08-Christ in Me, Christ in You

Christ in Me, Christ in You

When we’ve accepted Jesus Christ, we’ve got Christ in us-Christ in me, so that I no longer live, but He lives in me. When I read about this verse this morning, I’m also wondering… If I know that Christ has lived in me, can I also see that Christ lives in you as well? If I can see that, at least I can see something good in everyone as well. Even how bad they’re at this moment, but I do believe that there’s something good inside of them…

Christ in me, Christ in you… Let today be the beginning of something good – to see in different perspective, not in a judgmental way. That there’s something good-a positive side- inside everyone.

(-fon-)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

--- Galatians 2:20

TOTD, April 07 – Living to Please God

Living to Please God

We need to live our life according to His Ways. Living to please God. Need extra work, need efforts to do so, need to pray more so that we’ll be living to please Him. Let’s start to do it today. (-fon-)

As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

--- 1 Thessalonians 4:1

TOTD, April 06- Building from God

Building from God

Disasters can ruin life. We’ve seen the examples: the earthquake, flood, tsunami, etc. But we know that the only thing that stays forever is God. By only clinging ourselves to Him, we’ll find that kind of peace knowing that we have a building from God-not built by human hands. Life is only temporary, but God is eternal. (-fon-)

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands

---2 Corinthians 5:1

Monday, April 4, 2011

TOTD, April 05- Continue to Live in Him

Continue to Live in Him

We have received Jesus Christ as our Lord, then we need to continue to live in Him. Rooted and build up in Him… Strengthening our faith and never forget to live our life with thankfulness… For He’s been so good to you and me. For He’s been so good to us. (-fon-)

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

--- Colossians 2: 6-7

TOTD, April 03-04: Forgiveness in God

Forgiveness in You

If God kept a record of sins, who could stand? We all make mistakes every now and then, it’s not an excuse to do so… But, it’s only that our nature as a human, we can’t avoid sins… As long as we repent and try to be better us in every day of our life, we keep on believing that there’ll be forgiveness in Him. Thank you, Lord for the forgiveness in You. (-fon-)

If you, LORD, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?

But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

--- Psalm 130:3-4

Forgiveness of Sins

In God we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins. We should never take this light or take it as granted…. Even though it’s the riches of God’s grace that He’s lavished on us. But, let’s live our life for Him so that His forgiveness won’t be in vain. (-fon-)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding

--- Ephesians 1:7-8

TOTD, April 01-02: God’s Kindness

Everlasting Love and Kindness

God has loved us with an everlasting love. He has drawn us with unfailing kindness. He’s so wonderful, He’s so amazingly loving with His unconditional love. Thank God for His kindness and love that He has shown in each day of our life. (-fon-)

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

--- Jeremiah 31:3

His Kindness and Love Saved Us

His kindness and love saved us not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. Be grateful and rejoice in everything we do, because He’s been so kind to us. (-fon-)

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

--- Titus 3:4-5
