Happy Mother’s Day!

In Vietnam, we’re celebrating International Mother’s Day. Together with more  than 70 countries in the world, mother’s day is being celebrated all through out the world.

I went to church early in the morning at 5.15 am. And outside the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, I saw Mother Mary’s statue. It was so beautiful. With many candles all over the place and some people were praying their devotion in Vietnamese to the one and only, Mother Mary. What an interesting experience that I might remember for my whole life!

Inside the church, before the mass began at 5.30 am. I sat down and pray. May all of the mothers out there have the courage to say like what she said. Let it be to me according to Your Word. Her faithfulness is amazing. Her faith is extra-ordinary. No wonder, she’s the chosen one!

May the good example from Mother Mary strengthen us… So that we can enjoy this role as well as do our best to educate our children- the precious gifts from God. Happy mother’s day! (-fon-)

Selamat Hari Ibu!

Di Vietnam, hari ini diperingati Hari Ibu Internasional. Bersama dengan lebih dari 70 negara di dunia, Hari Ibu diperingati di seluruh penjuru bumi.

Saya pergi ke gereja cukup lagi hari ini sekitar pukul 5.15 pagi. Di laur gereja Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, saya melihat patung Bunda Maria yang sungguh indah. Dengan begitu banyak lilin di sekelilingnya dan beberapa orang tengah berdevosi dalam Bahasa Vietnam kepada Bunda Gereja, Bunda Maria. Betapa ini merupakan pengalaman yang takkan terlupa sepanjang hidup saya!

Di dalam gereja, sebelum misa dimulai pukul 5.30 pagi. Saya duduk dan berdoa. Semoga seluruh ibu, bisa memiliki keberanian seperti Sang Bunda yang tanpa ragu berkata, “ Jadilah kepadaku menurut perkataan-Mu.” Kesetiaannya mengagumkan. Imannya luar biasa. Tak heran, jika Bunda Maria adalah Bunda yang dipilih Tuhan!

Semoga contoh yang sedemikian baik dari Bunda Maria menguatkan kita… Sehingga kita bisa menikmati peranan ini juga sekaligus mendidik sebaik-baiknya anak-anak kita – hadiah yang sungguh berharga dari Tuhan. Selamat Hari Ibu! (-fon-)
