TOTD, December 12-14

Be Alert, Be Present!

This is what God says,
the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
they lie down and then can't get up;
they're snuffed out like so many candles:
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.
It's bursting out! Don't you see it?
There it is! I'm making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say 'Thank you!'
—the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
the people I made especially for myself,
a people custom-made to praise me.

--- Isaiah 43:16-21 (The Message)

Unlike the Bible, most of the people we meet often cling very hard with their past. While the Bible reminds us never keep going over old history, but what we’ve done just rewind those old sadness over and over again. God will make something brand-new. Everyday is a new day. A new experience in Him. Prepare for a brand new day! (-fon-)

Be the Change

Today, as I went to the Duc Ba Church (Saigon Notre Dame Basilica), I saw a foreigner few rows in front of me wearing this shirt: Be the change you wish to see in the world (Mahatma Gandhi).

For quite some time, I was thinking back and forth about this sentence. Sometimes, we’re lazy to get through a change. Because we’re already in comfort zone, or maybe we’re scared of the change. We somehow knew that changes have never been easy. Sometimes the process is so painful and we don’t like to get through that. But we can overcome all changes, we can be the change itself, as long as we trust Him. We can do all things (and that includes changes), in Christ. (-fon-)

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

--- Phillipians 4:13

Wait on the Lord Patiently

Why You’re not answering any of my prayers, Lord? Why You have to give these burdens to me, they’re so heavy, God? Why You don’t help me when I feel really really down, Jesus?

Maybe those things pop up on your mind. But today’s bible reminds us to stay faithful. To wait for Him patiently. Because He listens. He will turn to us and hear our cry for help. Never doubt about it. (-fon-)

I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.

---Psalm 40:1
