Gratitude

WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE of followers? The Lord requires gratitude. And for those of us in the Christian tradition, Jesus wants our gratitude to increase more and more until, like a holy flame, it burns within us and we burst into songs and deeds of thankfulness to God and neighbor. To express genuine gratitude to God, our deeds must demonstrate our love, trust, and service.

The Lord requires our gratitude. The ability to be thankful, to stay grateful in whatever condition we’re facing now. Well, it’s not going to be easy. Some of our days are fabulous and easy to stay thankful in those times, but there are days where we can’t even think positively. We become so disturbed, so interrupted by the problems. And this is when we should charge our gratitude battery to the higher level. Hopefully, we can become a better person who can be grateful all the time, in all things. Trying hard and praying hard. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

--- Colossians 3:16
