Undivided Heart

Right now it’s not easy to focus on Jesus, Samuel Mulia in his article in Kompas today has written that he has seen so many things inside the church. From person who’s busy with his Blackberry all the time until another person who’s just came in for a second to the church and then suddenly went out to talk to his friends outside. Chit chat and kept on talking.

I’m just wondering, is it so hard to concentrate on Jesus even though for one hour or maximum 1.5 hours each week on Sunday Mass? If we find it difficult, how about the rest of our life? Is it so easy to distract us from our focus on God? Can we have an undivided heart? A heart that’s really focus on Jesus alone…
And let’s start it in our prayers, mass, or other religious programs. It’s all about Jesus and not about us. Give us undivided hearts, O Lord! (-fon-)

Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
--- Psalm 86:11
