TOTD, November 18

Armed with God’s Strength

In a motorcycle accident four years ago, Mr Adam Kamis, 29, lost his right arm. His other arm is paralysed from the elbow down. But his achievement yesterday-running up the 73-storey Swissotel The Stamford in 12 min 34 sec- was all about leg power. Emerging 76th of 297 men in the category for those aged 20 to 29, he became the first person with his kind of disability to complete the Vertical Marathon. The race, it its 22nd year, also attracted eight deaf competitors. (The Straits Times, Monday, November 17, 2008).

Reading the inspirational story of Mr Kamis, made me think that lots of us have perfect bodies, without any disabilities, but sometimes have mind-disability. We forbid our dreams to grow because of fear or doubts or worries. Today, we need to learn from Mr Kamis, how he completed his race even with his disabilities. We need to maintain our spirit in the Lord to finish our race and depend on His strength to makes our way perfect in Him. (-fon-)

It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.
--- Psalm 18:32
