TOTD, Sept. 10-13

Believe!

God told Joshua that he would succeed, not because of anything he had in the natural, but because He was with him. Moses was successful only because God was with him. God told Joshua that the same thing would hold true for him if he believed. God kept telling Joshua to be strong and confident, to take courage and not be afraid. In other words, He kept telling him to believe!

... As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you or forsake you.
Be strong (confident) and of good courage...
--- Joshua 1:5,6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes we think too hard of something, while God only wants us to believe. Just as simple as that! He asked Moses, Joshua, to believe. And I'm sure, the message is still very clear until this day, we need to believe in Him. (-fon-)

God Is Love

Don't spend your life trying to please God so that He will love you or bless you more. God is love. He loves you unconditionally before you ever pay any attention to Him at all.

We love him, because he first loved us.
--- 1 John 4:19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God Is Love. If only we realize how pure and true His Love is!
His love is unconditional and is very different than we thought. Love in this world sometimes is associated with: you have to do something good to get it. But God's love is on the contrary: He loves us that much before we even pay any attention to Him. That's marvelous. Just remember that He is Love. (-fon-)

Equipped for the Job

Spend time daily with the Lord. Fellowship, ask, pray, seek, and come out of that time with Him equipped for the job at hand. Then being fully equipped, go do it. Exercise the authority that has been given you in His Name.

Then Jesus called together the Twelve [apostles] and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure disease.
And He sent them out to announce and preach the kingdom of God and to bring healing.
--- Luke 9:1,2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes God would give us some tasks in this life to do the ministries to others. And sometimes we thought, we're not ready yet for the tasks.
All we have to do is just to trust Him that He will equip us, He will empower us with the strength and the talents needed to serve Him and the people surround us.

Accountable for Our Words

Anytime we are given power, there must also be responsibility.

God has given us words, and He expects us to be accountable for the power that is carried in them.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].
--- Proverbs 18:21

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The sins of tongue. Have you ever imagined that?
Tongue is a tiny organ in our body, but can be as sharp as a knife. When we don't care about other people's feeling, and talk recklessly (gossiping, backbiting, hurting others with our words), that's when our tongue becomes the source of our sin.
Take control of your tongue. Pick up positive words, rather than the negative ones. It will help you a lot! (-fon-)
