TOTD, Sept. 28-30

Be Confident in Jesus

The devil wants you and me to feel so bad about ourselves that we have no confidence in ourselves. But here is the good news: We don't need confidence in ourselves --- we need confidence in Jesus!

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.
--- Hebrews 10:35

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Too much confidence in ourselves often makes us proud and boastful. But confidence in Jesus is the other way around. The confidence in Jesus makes us have our full faith in Him by realizing that we're nobody without Him. (-fon-)

Joy in the Will of God

It is vitally important to realize that whatever God calls us to do, He provides enjoyment for. Don't just work --- enjoy your work.

That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
--- Romans 15:32

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Surrendering our own will and replacing it with God's will sometimes is not easy. It requires the act of submission to God. Thy Will be done.
But once we can see His wonderful will for us in different perspective, we would realize that we'll find joy in it. We'll have a joyful life in His Will. (-fon-)

No Time to Complain

Truly thankful people do not complain. They are too busy being grateful for the good things they do have. They have no time to notice the things they could complain about.

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
--- John 6:43

My own reflection on this Thought:
* If you complain easily for the time being, trust me, you're not alone. Lots of us who's reading this scripture right now is or was a great complainer.
All we can do is just minimize it and then slowly omit it. Once we can be thankful of His Blessings in our life, then that's the time when we can see: even in the middle of the hopeless situation or the worst thing in our life, we can still see how marvelous His Blessings are! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 27

God's Love Will Get You Through

God loves you enough to cover your little daily mistakes. He loves you enough to get you through this day in power and victory.

He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father loves and pities his children, so the Lord loves and pities those who fear Him [ with reverence, worship, and awe].
--- Psalm 103:10-13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're all sinners. If we look at our list of sins, trust me: they're plenty...
But it doesn't mean that God won't be able to forgive us. He loves us so much and his mercy is like a river that flows continuously in each day of our life.
Our duty is just receive His love, try to make as little mistake as we could, and do our best as the Children of God-the apples of His Eye... (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 25

" Later, God, Later "

A friend of mine had a vision once while she was praying. She saw the Father go into the homes of the people of America when they got up in the morning. He went in all ready to fellowship and talk to them. He got a chair at the table and sat down. The people got up, and they came, and they went throughout the day. They kept telling God, " Stay right there for just a little while, God. As soon as I get this done, I'm going to talk to You. I'm going to fellowship with You later, God."

The end of the day came, and the girl who saw this said it broke her heart because she saw God, with slumped over shoulders, leave the homes. And nobody had ever come to talk to Him that day.

If you don't have time to pray and spend time with God, then you are too busy. Take the time to tell God how much you love Him, and develop a relationship with Him. If you don't and you are born again ( you've invited Jesus into your heart), you will still go to heaven, but you will have missed the joy of living a victorious life.
( See Psalm 27:4)

My own reflection on this Thought:
* There's no perfect time to talk to God.
Of course, we can set a regular time to pray, but actually praying is a lot more than just that time that we've already set. We can pray while we're working, while we're cooking, while we're sweeping, while we're doing some sport, while we're driving, etc... etc...
So, don't delay. Just start right now to communicate with Him. And that means in the middle of anything that we're doing right now. Talk to Him, listen to Him, communicate and build relationship with Him. He is there, He's not that far and He's a real good friend! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 26

Draw on God's Power

The only way to get to the other side of a problem and eliminate its power over us is to face it and allow the Holy Spirit to instruct us in the Word and by leading or guiding us in our heart in how to walk through it.

We will never gain a personal victory if we always get deliverance by miracles. God may give us some victories in that way, but all of them won't come that way. He wants to empower us to face the enemy ourselves (in the strength of His power) so that we can have a personal victory.

In conclusions, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]: draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
--- Ephesians 6:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* By realizing our weaknesses, we should draw the real strength that only comes from Him. That's the message from Ephesians 6:10.
We're weak and we live in this world of never ending problems, that's why we need to cooperate with God. Draw the real strength from Him, so that we can face even the most impossible thing that could happen in our life, with His guidance.

TOTD, Sept. 24

Act on the Word

Good intentions are not obedience. Action taken based on God's Word is obedience. Don't procrastinate!

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people...
--- Exodus 19:5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Action is always speak louder than words. We may think of the theory, but the problem is how to put the theory into practice.
As God's children, we need to obey Him. We need to do things based on His Characters, His commandments, which can be seen through the bible itself.
Act now! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 21-23

Everything We Need

The Gift of God, the Spirit of grace, is the One Who brings every other good gift into our life. That is what the Holy Spirit is given to us for. God gives us the Holy Spirit --- He gives us His inner strength and power --- when we ask Him to fill us with His Spirit. Through His Spirit God gives us everything that we need.

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!
--- Luke 11:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Our Father is very kind to us. With His gift of Holy Spirit, it could enable us to forever change in Him. It could bring us the fruits of the spirit, love-peace-joy-and all the good things that might be in our life. Continue to ask Him to fill us with His Spirit. We would see the difference. (-fon-)

Improve with Patience

People improve more rapidly under patience than under pressure.

Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
--- James 1:3-4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Having experiencing the life in the city of Jakarta, I do believe it's almost impossible to be patient.
While driving, everyone wants to be the fastest, sometimes without understanding other's condition. While queuing, lots of people becoming lazy to queue and becoming impatient, because they want to be the fastest. Everyone's under pressure...

But being under pressure would bring us nowhere. We need to believe that we need to learn to be more patient in each and everyday. Especially in our daily life. In Jakarta, in Singapore, or in any other cities in the world, it doesn't really matter, all we must do is just learn to be patient. (-fon-)

Keep Yourself Happy

Anytime we expect someone else to keep us happy all the time, we are in for some disappointments.

Thou wilt shew the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
--- Psalm 16:11

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Blame it on the rain, blame it on the traffic jam, blame it on someone... Maybe it's us that try to blame it on something or someone for being unhappy.
But actually, it's our own responsibility to stay in happiness, to stay in joy. We can't blame it on something/someone.
Don't expect too much and take responsibility of your joy, just believe that God's joy is enough for you. Even in the darkest valley of your life, His Joy would be there to see you through. Amen! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 20

Thanksgiving: A Life Principle

A powerful life cannot be lived without thanksgiving. Complaining in thought or word is a death principle, but being thankful and saying so is a life principle.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!
--- Psalm 100:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* As a Christian, we need to make thanksgiving as our life principle. In all things, we give thanks to the Lord. In good times and bad times. In everything, just praise His Name all the time. (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.19

Attitude of Submission

Submission is not just an action; it is an attitude.

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
--- Luke 22:42

My own reflection on this Thought:
* I wonder, if we always get what we want, what kind of life it would be for us?
Because so many things happen and sometimes it's completely different with our expectation, that's when we need the attitude of submission. Not my will, but YOURS, be done. That's our motto as Christian. (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.18

Don't Worry About Tomorrow

A sure way to lose your peace is to start worrying about tomorrow.

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.
--- Matthew 6:34

My own reflection on this Thought:
* How can we're not worry about our future? We think about our financial condition, we think about our kids' education, we think about our health condition, etc... etc...
But God tells us not to worry, because each day has its own troubles. And even though we find troubles on that day, He will show us the way...
Try to surrender our worries to Him... (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.17

Mercy Produces Mercy

People are not perfect, and to expect them to be is frustrating for everyone involved. We must learn to be generous with mercy and to sow seeds of mercy (give mercy to others) so we can reap mercy (receive mercy from others) when we need it.

"Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy."
--- Matthew 5:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In one stage of my life, I always want everyone to be perfect. And to tell you the truth, it is very stressful. And then entering this marriage life, I learned a lot about mercy, about forgiveness. I would be the who suffers if I continue my expectation about people's perfection.
Because I realized, I myself am not perfect either. That's why I should forgive others because I'm not perfect and can do mistakes easily now and then.
Learn to give more mercy to others and you'll find that this life of yours is less stressful. I'm sure it will be more beautiful! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.14-16

God Protects Us

God is continually concerned about our protection. Not only can we trust Him with our physical protection, but our emotional protection as well.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
--- Psalm 121:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Our God is an awesome God. He could protect us from all danger. Emotional stability comes from God's dependence. Comes from God's protection.
Just trust Him with all our heart! (-fon-)

They Way to True Success

No matter how much outward success a person may enjoy, he is not truly successful unless he knows who he is in Christ.

For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are ] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances.
--- Philippians 3:3

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Without Christ, we're incomplete. We're disoriented. Until we found who we're in the body of the Christ, that's when we can feel the true perfection in this life.
Draw ourselves close to God, so that we can find a true meaning of life in Him.
(-fon-)

God's Precious Little Ones

Our heavenly Father wants us to know that we are His precious little ones --- His children --- and that when we come to Him as such, we show faith in Him which releases Him to care for us.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
--- 1 John 3:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're His children. His Precious Little Ones. No matter how big is our achievement, we're still the Apple of His Eyes.
Keep our faith in Him, because we know that in good times or bad times, we'll always be His precious little ones. We'll always be the children of God.

TOTD, Sept. 10-13

Believe!

God told Joshua that he would succeed, not because of anything he had in the natural, but because He was with him. Moses was successful only because God was with him. God told Joshua that the same thing would hold true for him if he believed. God kept telling Joshua to be strong and confident, to take courage and not be afraid. In other words, He kept telling him to believe!

... As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you or forsake you.
Be strong (confident) and of good courage...
--- Joshua 1:5,6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes we think too hard of something, while God only wants us to believe. Just as simple as that! He asked Moses, Joshua, to believe. And I'm sure, the message is still very clear until this day, we need to believe in Him. (-fon-)

God Is Love

Don't spend your life trying to please God so that He will love you or bless you more. God is love. He loves you unconditionally before you ever pay any attention to Him at all.

We love him, because he first loved us.
--- 1 John 4:19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God Is Love. If only we realize how pure and true His Love is!
His love is unconditional and is very different than we thought. Love in this world sometimes is associated with: you have to do something good to get it. But God's love is on the contrary: He loves us that much before we even pay any attention to Him. That's marvelous. Just remember that He is Love. (-fon-)

Equipped for the Job

Spend time daily with the Lord. Fellowship, ask, pray, seek, and come out of that time with Him equipped for the job at hand. Then being fully equipped, go do it. Exercise the authority that has been given you in His Name.

Then Jesus called together the Twelve [apostles] and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure disease.
And He sent them out to announce and preach the kingdom of God and to bring healing.
--- Luke 9:1,2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes God would give us some tasks in this life to do the ministries to others. And sometimes we thought, we're not ready yet for the tasks.
All we have to do is just to trust Him that He will equip us, He will empower us with the strength and the talents needed to serve Him and the people surround us.
(-fon-)

Accountable for Our Words

Anytime we are given power, there must also be responsibility.

God has given us words, and He expects us to be accountable for the power that is carried in them.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].
--- Proverbs 18:21

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The sins of tongue. Have you ever imagined that?
Tongue is a tiny organ in our body, but can be as sharp as a knife. When we don't care about other people's feeling, and talk recklessly (gossiping, backbiting, hurting others with our words), that's when our tongue becomes the source of our sin.
Take control of your tongue. Pick up positive words, rather than the negative ones. It will help you a lot! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.07-09

False Evidence

Fear, which is spelled f-e-a-r, stands for false evidence appearing real. The enemy wants to tell you that your current situation is evidence that your future will be a failure, but the Bible teaches us that no matter what our present circumstances, no matter how bad things seem, nothing is impossible with God.

For with God nothing is ever impossible, and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.
--- Luke 1:37

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Looking at our present situation, it might be so stressful. It might seem that we don't have any future while all the problems appear along this life journey.
But, God wants us to believe in Him. Because He is the WAY, He will show us the way - sometimes the impossible way that we could never think of- for our future.
Just trust Him with all our hearts. (-fon-)

Live in Peace

It is absolutely impossible to worry and live in peace at the same time.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
--- Philippians 4:6,7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Even in the middle of our stormy life, God's peace would be there. His Peace is enough to see us through... Just pray every request of ours...
(-fon-)

Christ's Ambassadors

We need a different attitude toward ourselves and others. We need to be acting like royal ambassadors, like divine diplomats, by drawing others to receive the Lord's wonderful gift of forgiveness and reconciliation, and to share in His marvelous grace, His unmerited favor.

So we are Christ's ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.
--- 2 Corinthians 5:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* As we received the Lord personally, we need to make a difference in our attitude.
Because we're Christ's Ambassadors, that's why we need to be different.
We need to spread more love, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
It's not easy, but with His guidance,I'm sure we can make it... (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.06

Decide to Be Happy!

Happiness and joy do not come from the outside. They come from within. They are a conscious decision, a deliberate choice, one that we make ourselves each day we live.

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.
---Deuteronomy 30:19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Happiness and joy are our own decision. We can't blame our condition, our worries, our problems for not being peaceful. But as soon as we decide to surrender every worries and anxieties that we have to God, in a while, we'll be joyful.
Rejoice in the Lord always, all the time, in the middle of the stormy days of your life. Don't worry, be happy...

TOTD, Sept. 05

The Best Plan

God sees and understands what we don't see and understand. He asks us to trust Him, not to live in carnal reasoning and be frustrated because things don't always go according to our plan.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
--- Proverbs 3:5,6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The words above are so true!
How often we got frustrated by the time we want to achieve our own plan. But suddenly, when God has His own perfect plan comes along, we could be very surprised and yet be grateful because it's sometimes really unbelievable!
Don't border ourselves with our carnal reasoning, because our God works tremendously, far above that we could think...
The only thing we can do right now is just trusting Him once more... (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 04

We Know the Waymaker

When our desires seem overwhelmingly big, and we don't see the way to accomplish them, we should remember that even though we don't know the way, we know the Waymaker!
God has a way for us to do everything He places in our heart.

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].
--- Ephesians 3:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Nothing is too big for God. If He has already placed the dream, the desire within us, and He plans us to have it, He will fulfill it eventually.
Beyond our thoughts and imagination, He has His own ways to achieve it. All we can do is just try our best and devote our deepest desire to Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.03

Jesus' " Power of Attorney"

My husband Dave and I travel a lot, and at one time we had a son at home who was a minor. He traveled with us when he could, but he could not go all the time. We wanted those who were caring for him in our absence to be able to get medical treatment for him in the event it was ever needed. We discovered that they would need a legal document stating that they had the right to use our name in our son's behalf, literally to make decisions in our place. We gave those caring for him our "power of attorney." We could not be there in person, but we wanted to be sure that anything that needed to be taken care of in our absence could be done.

Jesus did the same thing for His disciples and ultimately for all who would believe in Him. He said," I have to go away, but I will give you My Name. You can use it in prayer, and My Father and your Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name."

This is the authority that you and I have been granted in His Name.
What an awesome privilege! (See John 14:13)

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Jesus said, " I have to go away, but I will give you My Name. You can use it in prayer..."
Jesus has sent His Name as the power of attorney, just in case we need it especially when we're in a very hectic condition when we couldn't even think of beautiful words to pray, that's when we need His Name.
Jesus said that He had to go away, but His Name remains. His personality remains. We just need to call on His Name in our prayer.
It is powerful! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept.01-02

Hope for Hurting People

Hurting people hurt people, but love can heal and change them.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement).
Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction) , so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage ) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.
--- 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Only love can heal this world. And the love that can heal, I believe is only the love of God which is so pure, true, and the most important thing is unconditional.
Everybody hurts, but how can we make this world to be a better world?
Believe that God loves us. It will enable us to spread His love to the people surround us. (-fon-)

Timing Is Everything

Many times we want information on when, and God cannot give it because we do not have enough wisdom to handle the knowledge. We must humble ourselves and our ideas to the wisdom and power of God and trust Him when He says in His Word He will not be late one single day. He has an appointed time for everything in our lives. Appointed time simply means when He knows the time is right.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.
--- Habakkuk 2:3

My own reflection on this Thought:
* While we're living in such a 'rush hour' in our daily life, it's hard to believe that we need to wait for His perfect timing to come.
Sometimes, when we just start a new relationship with our boyfriend or girlfriend, we want to know as soon as possible, when the wedding date would be.
While we just start our career in a new company, we want to know when will be our promotion day. Etc... Etc...
Actually, that's normal, but the thing is: we can't control most of the cases in this life. Like or dislike, we have to let God reign and in control of TIMING in our life.
Just believe that He won't give nothing but the BEST, but in His time-frame, not ours.
Our part is just believe in Him... (-fon-)
