TOTD, June 25-27: About Health

Joy of the Heart

Joy can also be seen from the face. A cheerful look brings joy to the heart. Let’s stay healthy by starting to live in joy and hope to the Lord. Start the healthy heart and mind, focus on Him, and hopefully it will lead to a healthier body. (-fon-)

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart;
good news makes for good health.

TOTD, June 24- Good Fruits

Good Fruits

Whether it’s good or bad, it can be differentiate from the fruits. A sound tree will produce good fruit. So, let’s try to produce more fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let our life be the source of good fruits that can make our Father proud. (-fon-)

17 In the same way, a sound tree produces good fruit but a rotten tree bad fruit. 20 I repeat, you will be able to tell them by their fruits.

--- Matthew 7:17,20

TOTD, June 22-Lord, I Trust in You

Lord, I Trust in You

I admit, Lord that sometimes I feel scared and worried.

About my past, present, and future.

The pains and wounds from the past…

They keep coming back.

Maybe it’s my own fault that I haven’t let them go.

Some of the worries are about my future.

Uncertainties, plans that will or won’t happen

Will I be successful?

Will I have enough money to send my children to school?

Those thoughts popped up inside of my mind quite frequent

About my present condition.

My job, my family, my financial, my health.

Well, it’s unavoidable but yet I know that I need to work it out somehow

Let me put my trust in You, Lord.

With such a small faith that I have…

Even though it’s only like a mustard seed…

As long as I believe in You, I’ll feel peace.

I’ll feel safe, because I have You as my refuge

You’re my strength.

And forever, You’ll be my shield.

I’m really grateful for You

and let me say it one more time:

I put all my trust in You, Lord. (-fon-)

This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.

--- Psalm 91:2

TOTD, June 21- Turn from Our Selfish Ways

Turn from Our Selfish Ways

We tend to be selfish. Think about ourselves most of the time. What we like, what we want, what’s profitable for me. But, Jesus taught us the other way which is contrarian to what majority of this world would choose. If any of us want to be His follower, we must turn from our selfish ways, take up our cross, and follow Him.

Let’s try to be less selfish and follow Him in a better way. (-fon-)

Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.

TOTD, June 18-20: All About Love from 1 Corinthians 13

Love is the Greatest

These verses from the book of Corinthians remind me how we should act and choose to love. Even it’s not easy to do so, even it will need effort and we might struggle with it, but choosing love is the best thing to do. Because God is love, and He’ll make us able to get it through. No matter how hard it is, no matter how deep is the hatred inside of us, as long as we believe that we’ll be able to stand strong when we choose love, we’ll make through some how. Love is the greatest of all. (-fon-)

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

--- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Love Is…

Let’s remind ourselves when we fell in love, either with our boyfriend/girlfriend or our spouse. What things or qualities that we made us fall so deep at that time? The smile, the look, the hair, the pretty/handsome face? Or the voice, the brain (smart/clever), or the way they treat us? Well, as we grow older, we might find that the things that made us fall in love at that time might change along the way. But, the core of love according to the verses from 1 Corinthians 13 remain unchanged. Because the act of love is about patience and kindness. It’s not about jealous, boastful, rude or proud. But all the good things in hope and endurance in every circumstances. We can get that kind of love through Christ. It’s for sure. (-fon-)

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

--- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love that Lasts Forever

Remember the royal wedding? We might feel deeply connected with all the ceremony. Keeping the fairy tale alive and hoping that it will last forever. Lots of Hollywood dramas keep sending the message: and they live happily ever after. But then when we look at our daily life, we might get disappointed because in real life it seemed that love that lasts forever is pretty rare. Separation, conflicts, or affairs might bring the marriage on a danger zone.

But, as Christians, we need to seek the love that lasts forever. The source of love is God Himself. If we want to enjoy that kind of love, let’s draw nearer to the source Himself. And hopefully, faith, hope, and love will be following us as we pray and seek the strength from Him. (-fon-)

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

--- 1 Corinthians 13:13

TOTD, June 17- Controlling Our Thoughts

Controlling Our Thoughts

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference. (Max Lucado)

Some of the days are passed with so many negative thoughts inside of us. This is the time to make a difference, like what Max Lucado said… We need to learn to control our thoughts and may all the thoughts be pleasing to Him. (-fon-)

May all my thoughts be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.

TOTD, June 16 – Never Sell the Truth

Never Sell the Truth

Nowadays, we’re living in such a twisted world, where people might sell the truth for money, fame, or other things.

It’s not easy to find soul that’s still put the truth ontop of everything and being honest in their life. But, we need to do that. According to the Proverbs today, we need to maintain the truth, never sell it. Along with wisdom, discipline and good judgment, may we live a truthful life in God. He’s the best way of truth. (-fon-)

Get the truth and never sell it;
also get wisdom, discipline, and good judgment.

TOTD, June 15: Live as Citizens of Heaven

Live as Citizens of Heaven

No matter what citizenship that we’re holding now... We’re all citizens of heaven. And we need to live our life at best and show the world in such a manner that’s worthy of good news about Christ. Keep the faith and make Him proud. (-fon-)

Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.

TOTD, June 14: Generosity

Generosity

As Jesus has shown us the example of generosity, it’s our duty to make it happen in our daily life. Being generous doesn’t always mean have to donate money. It’s the act of giving whatever we have to this world. It might be our talent or help. Or just as simple as giving an ear to listen to other people’s problems whenever they need somebody to share their worries. May Jesus’ generosity and love fill our heart, so that we can have a generous heart to others.

(-fon-)

You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.

--- 2 Corinthians 8:9

TOTD, June 07- Experiencing the Love of Christ

Experiencing the Love of Christ

Once we’ve experienced the love of Christ, we might find ourselves dwelling inside His marvellous love. We’ll never understand fully though, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. Because His love is too great to understand completely. After experiencing His love, may we made complete in the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Amen. (-fon-)

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
