TOTD, November 01 – Be Self-Controlled and Alert

Be Self-Controlled and Alert

All throughout the world, human is facing the evil that infiltrates their mind. It could be from the devil, but it’s also possible that the temptation comes from their own uncontrollable desires (especially for doing bad things). Stand firm in faith, try do the best in resisting doing sinful things. I know it won’t be easy, but we need to have some commitment inside of our heart to make it possible. (-fon-)

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

--- 1 PETER 5:8-9

Gift of God

It is by grace that we have been saved. So, no need to be boastful about this. It’s the gift of God into our life. Let’s cherish and treasure every minute of our life as a thanksgiving to the Lord for He’s been so good to us. (-fon-)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

--- Ephesians 2:8-9

Spiritual Act of Worship

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

TOTD, October 28- Private Corner

Private Corner

I’ve always longed for a private corner…

A corner during hectic days where I can go inside my room and pray.

Just You and me, Father. So, we can feel the quality of good communication that’s being developed in each and every day….

So, we can talk each other-heart to heart. So, we can feel the Father and daughter intimacy. I do hope to find that private corner in every day of my life. (-fon-)

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

--- Matthew 6:6

TOTD, October 27- Continue to Live in Him

Continue to Live in Him

There’s always be a first time when we met Jesus. Felt His unconditional love for the first time and received Him as our Savior. As we have already received Him, let’s continue living up our days in Him. (-fon-)

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,

TOTD, Oct. 23-25: Patience

Wisdom Gives Patience

A man's wisdom gives him patience

--- Proverbs 19:11a

Let’s ask Him for wisdom, so that we can live our days more wisely and more patiently. (-fon-)

Patience is better than Pride

The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.

--- Ecclesiastes 7:8

Patience is better than pride. If the arrogance comes along today, let’s remember that we need to stay humble and grow more patiently. (-fon-)

Patience in Suffering

Be patient in this life. Be patient in waiting for His time, like the farmers wait for the land to yield… And his patience while going through all the season’s, let it be our patience in all season’s of our life… (-fon-)

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains.

--- James 5:7

TOTD, October 21 - Keep the Faith because He’s Faithful

Keep the Faith because He’s Faithful

A godwink is what some people would call a coincidence, an answered prayer, or simply an experience where you'd say, "Wow, what are the odds of that!"

What do godwinks mean? Think about when you were a kid and someone you loved gave you a little wink across the dining room table...Mom or Dad or Grandma. You didn't say "What do you mean by that?" You knew. It meant: "Hey kid, I'm thinking about you right now." That's what a godwink is too: a message of reassurance from above, directly to you, out of six billion people on the planet, saying "Hey kid...I'm thinking of you! Keep the faith! You're never alone." (SQuire Rushnell - When God Winks).

Let’s keep the faith and believe that He’s faithful through the tiniest part of our life. Even it’s ‘only’ a godwink, it shows that He’s thinking of us. He loves us! (-fon-)

For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

--- Psalm 57:10

TOTD, 20 October – Merciful

Merciful

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

--- Matthew 5:7

Let’s stay merciful. Even though how hard it is, we should try our best to give mercy. I know it’s hard, it’s sometimes painful to do so. But, let’s remember that God has been so good to us, His Mercy is new everyday even though we’re so sinful. Let’s learn to be more like Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, 19 October – Work at it Heartily

Work at it Heartily

Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,

--- Colossians 3:23

Last time when I worked as a stock-broker with good salary, attractive bonus and company’s outings, it’s more than possible that I will do it with all my heart. But, as a house-wife, without any salary-bonus or whatsoever, can I still do every single chore heartily?

It’s not easy though, but I learn to stay faithful even though it seems that my role is pretty tiny at this moment. Tiny in terms of the package or benefit, but huge role in maintaining the family strength and the future of our children.

I’ve learned to stay faithful, no matter how big or how small the present task might look like, I’ll give my best and work at it heartily as doing it for the Lord. Let our daily life be a pleasing sacrifice for Him. Whatever your task now – no matter how big or how small it is, do it with all your heart. I’m sure, God will see your faithfulness. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct. 16-18 – He Cares

He Cares for You

No matter how big or how small your anxiety at this moment, cast all of them to the Lord. Because He cares for you. (-fon-)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

--- 1 Peter 5:7

Flock under His Care

We’re the flock under His care. So, whenever we hear He keeps calling us, don’t harden our hearts. Let’s open our heart widely for Him. (-fon-)

Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,
as you did that day at Massah b]">[n the desert,

--- Psalm 95:6-8

He’s Good, He Cares About Us

The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,

--- Nahum 1:7

He’s our refuge, our present help in times of needs. He really cares about us. Don’t ever put yourself in such a doubt by questioning, “God, are You there? Do You really care?”

Because the answer is definitely: “Yes, He’s there and He does care. And His goodness is everlasting. His protection and care for us will never end.” (-fon-)

TOTD, October 15 – Transformed!

Transformed!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

--- Romans 12:2

Don’t conform to the pattern of this world, be transformed by renewing of our mind. What a strong message from the book of Romans! We need to stand strong and not following the bad patterns of this world, but moreover we need to transform, renew our mind, becoming more and more willing to do God’s will in this life. (-fon-)

TOTD, October 14 – Like a Marathon Runner

Like a Marathon Runner

Why do so many marriages fail? Quite simply, couples start their married life with a sprinter's mentality and when the reality of the commitment hits them, they bail. They aren't thinking marathon—they're thinking sprint. They're thinking, Glamour and glory, when they need to think, Guts and graft. (Source: Billy Milton’s e-book: Building a Marathon Marriage).

Billy Milton’s e-book has shown me that with a sprinter’s mentality, won’t bring me and every other couple out there anywhere far. We’ll lost easily in the race because we stop or giving up too soon.

Adapting that thought to our daily life, we need to build a marathon runner’s attitude towards this life. Not giving up easily, but doing our best to get the crown that will last forever-from Him alone. So, have you build a marathon runner’s attitude? If you haven’t it’s not too late to do it now. (-fon-)

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

--- 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

TOTD, October 13 – Lord God is Our Shield

Lord God is Our Shield

Not only He’s our shield in facing everything in this life, He’s also our sun who will shine endlessly in our life. (-fon-)

For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.

--- Psalm 84:11

TOTD, Oct 12 – Tired? Find Rest in God

Tired? Find Rest in God …

My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.

--- Psalm 62:1

Have you ever felt tired when you walk in this journey of life? You might try to find many ways to keep you satisfy and feeling relax. But eventually, you’ll find out that the best way to rest is to put our soul rest in God alone. Then, we’ll feel the joy inside of us that will flow and fill our life with smile. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct 09-11- About Grace

His Grace is Sufficient

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

--- 2 Corinthians 12:9

Do not scare of our weaknesses, because He will show His Grace through our weaknesses. If we only boast and feel proud of our strengths, that will lead us to arrogance. Because we think that we’re strong enough to do everything on our own. But, through our weaknesses, we’re made realize once again that we’re nothing without God. And it’s His Grace that enables us to walk in this path of life. (-fon-)

Fullness of His Grace

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

--- John 1:16

Let’s be reminded that all blessing that we’ve received in this life comes for the fullness of His Grace. (-fon-)

Testifying the Gospel of God’s Grace

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

--- Acts 20:24

The Book of Acts reminds us that the most important thing in this life: to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given us – testifying to the gospel of God’s grace. Let’s work hard in fulfilling this task. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct. 08 - Defined by Your Heart

Defined by Your Heart

Who you are has nothing to do with the clothes you wear or the car you drive . . . Heaven does not know you as the fellow with the nice suit or the woman with the big house or the kid with the new bike. Heaven knows your heart . . .

(Max Lucado)

Speaking to the people, he went on, "Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot."

--- Luke 12:15

Life is not defined by what you have. It has nothing to do with what Max Lucado said – clothes, car, nice suits, big house, or new bike. Heaven knows your heart. God see your compassion and love inside of us. Let’s start this day with a brand new heart to worship and glorify His Name.

TOTD, October 07 – Earnestly, I Seek You

Earnestly, I Seek You
This was the Psalm of David in the Desert of Judah:

O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.

--- Psalm 63:1

Have you ever felt this way? Like David, if we earnestly seek Him, for sure we’ll feel that our thirsts for Him, our longs for Him. Search, and we will find. Earnestly, I Seek You, Lord! (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct 06- Hosanna!

Hosanna!

Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
"Hosanna!"
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"

--- Mark 11:9-10

Starting my day not with a very good mood, I tried to get the strength from the word of God while at the same time, listening to a song called Hosanna (Be Lifted Up) by the True Worshippers. Then suddenly, the peace fills my heart once again. No matter what happens in our life, whatever will happen in the future, never forget to lift Him up in our life. Hosanna in the highest to the Lord! (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct 04-05: Against Greed, Do the Will of God

On Guard Against Greed

Greed can come easily and stay in our heart. We need to watch our life carefully so that greed can’t grow strongly there. Be thankful for what we’ve got, keep reaching for the best in our life, never stop doing our best, and finally we can see His wonderful plans for us. (-fon-)

Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

--- Luke 12:15

Doing the Will of God

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

--- Matthew 7:21

Not everyone that keeps on calling His Name will enter the kingdom in heaven, but those who do the will of Lord will achieve that. (-fon-)
