TOTD, November 03 – Super Model

Super Model Maybe we’re so familiar with Fashion TV. While at other times, we’re also watch every now and then, Tyra Banks’America’s Next Top Model, a reality show to find the next Top/ Super Model in the U.S. The same program is also available in other countries with different contestants, such as in Britain, Australia, or Canada. Talking about model, our Super Model of faith is Jesus Christ Himself. God has showed us His greatest gift in the life of Jesus Christ. How He sacrificed Himself to die on the cross for bearing our sins. We should be thankful for His love for us. He’s our Super Model of faith and obedience. Praise Jesus Christ! (-fon-) Christians, we have a super model! Our ‘crosses’ are minute compared to the challenges and ‘criminal’ crosses that Christ had to bear. He did it for us. He carried it to show us how to do it. His message is that there is no salvation except by carrying the cross. We do not like to hear it. But it is the fact of life. Christ is the only way to the Father. Sedangkan pada kali lainnya, kita pun sering menyaksikan America’s Next Top Model-nya Tyra Banks, sebuah program pencarian bakat untuk menemukan Top Model atau Super Model di Amerika Serikat. Program yang sama juga terdapat di negara-negara lainnya dengan kontestan yang berbeda, seperti di Inggris, Australia, atau Kanada. Berbicara tentang model, Super Model kita dalam bidang iman adalah Yesus Kristus sendiri. Tuhan sudah menunjukkan karya terbesar-Nya dalam hidup Yesus Kristus. Bagaimana Iamenanggung kematian di kayu salib untuk menanggung dosa-dosa kita. Kita hendaknya berterima kasih untuk kasih-Nya pada kita. Dialah Super Model kita dalam iman dan ketaatan. Terpujilah Kristus! (-fon-) Pengikut Kristus, kita punya super model! Salib kita sungguh kecil dibandingkan dengan tantangan dan salib yang harus dipikul-Nya. Dia melakukannya bagi kita. Dia membopong salib itu untuk menunjukkan pada kita bagaimana melakukannya. Pesannya adalah tiada keselamatan kecuali dengan setia menanggung salib. Kita tidak suka mendengarnya. Tetapi inilah kenyataan hidup. Kristus adalah satu-satunya jalan menuju Allah Bapa. Santo Antonius mengerti betul akan Kitab Suci dan hidup sungguh selaras dengannya. Karena begitu besar kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga Ia telah mengaruniakan Anak-Nya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal. --- Yohanes 3:16
