Shall We Accept Good and Not Trouble?
I love reading the book of Job. Not only his faith really amazed me, but he’s an extraordinary person who can hold on still with his integrity even though he’s in pain.
So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"
He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
--- Job 2:7-10
Imagine that you’re in his position. And your loved one (your spouse) asked you to curse God. Can you be like him? Can you say the same words as what he was saying? It’s really hard. But if only we realize that, we can reach the kind of faith like Job. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? Let’s try to be a more mature person and accept things in this life as His gift, even though it’s good or bad because He has His own plan for us. (-fon-)
