Martha and Mary
According to the passage below, there are two types of person. The first one is Martha-who’s busy with all the preparation to welcome Jesus and His disciples. While the second one, Mary, sat on the Lord’s feet listening what He said.
In this life, we might act like Martha. So busy with whatever occupied us at this moment. Job, family, friends, etc. And there’s a tendency that we might forget to listen to God, while it’s actually something that’s important.
Let’s commit ourselves to pray and listen to Him. Commit whatever we can with our condition. Maybe it’s just 15 minutes a day. Or it could be 1 hour a day. Let’s sit on the Lord’s feet and listen to Him. (-fon-)
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
