Nothing Is Too Hard
Cape No. 7 was made by an unknown director, Wei Te-sheng, who had one previously unreleased feature to his credit. He took out loans and mortgaged his house and it has paid off in a monster hit.
The movie was made on a scraped-together budget of NT$50 million, but it has broken box-office records in its native Taiwan with takings of over NT$450 million since its release on Aug 22 this year.
Cape No. 7 is the second-highest grossing movie of all time there, after James Cameron’s Titanic (1997). ( The Straits Times Wednesday, November 19, 2008).
I’ve just watched the movie. It’s very good and entertaining as well. But that’s not all... I’ve also learned something from there.
Director Wei has taught me how to fight our dreams with all our hearts, with all we’ve got and for him that includes loans and mortgage. And whatever your heart desire, maybe you have such an impossible dream, but if God wants you to achieve that, there’s nothing too hard. The hard work will get paid off like Cape No. 7. Work hard and pray hard for your dreams! (-fon-)
"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
--- Jeremiah 32:17
