TOTD, October 14 – Like a Marathon Runner

Like a Marathon Runner

Why do so many marriages fail? Quite simply, couples start their married life with a sprinter's mentality and when the reality of the commitment hits them, they bail. They aren't thinking marathon—they're thinking sprint. They're thinking, Glamour and glory, when they need to think, Guts and graft. (Source: Billy Milton’s e-book: Building a Marathon Marriage).

Billy Milton’s e-book has shown me that with a sprinter’s mentality, won’t bring me and every other couple out there anywhere far. We’ll lost easily in the race because we stop or giving up too soon.

Adapting that thought to our daily life, we need to build a marathon runner’s attitude towards this life. Not giving up easily, but doing our best to get the crown that will last forever-from Him alone. So, have you build a marathon runner’s attitude? If you haven’t it’s not too late to do it now. (-fon-)

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

--- 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
