All in Due Time

Believe me, when our time comes, no devil in hell and no person on earth will be able to prevent God from promoting and blessing us .

And let us not loose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
--- Galatians 6:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When our time comes, nothing will be able to prevent God's blessing for us. That's terrific! We must believe it! No matter how helpless and hopeless the present situation is, if God's timing has come, no one can ever change that. Amen. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.29-30

The Word is Powerful

Pray the Word. Nothing gets God's attention any quicker. It is His Word that carries the power of the Holy Spirit.

For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
--- Hebrews 4:12

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We need to spend time everyday reading the Word of God, because it's like a love letter from God. And the Word would make us understand more how to live in a Christ-like behavior. That's why we need to read it over and over again, in order to get close to God. (-fon-)

Learn to "Be"

We must learn to "be" and not always feel that we must "do."

For in Him we live and move and have our being; ... For we are also His offspring.
--- Acts 17:28

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're His offspring. We're His children. That's why we need to realize how worthy we are and not trapped in our past mistakes or sins.
Just remember how great His Love is towards us, and place all the negative thoughts that Satan might intrude to our mind with peace and positive words.
(-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.28

Live by Faith

The attitude of faith will cause you to live one day at a time, enjoying each one.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight.)
--- 2 Corinthians 5:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We walk by faith, not by sight. Walking by faith allows us to trust God even the reality is very depressing. Live in each day of our life by faith. (-fon-)

More Than a Conqueror

You may have a problem, but as long as the problem doesn't have you, you are more than a conqueror.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
--- Romans 8:37

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We can't avoid problems. They will always be there in our life. What we can do is just to live with them, find solutions and be a winner. Even though the problem might seem too big for us for the time being, but be sure that we got our God who is bigger than any problem in this life.(-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.26

Help for Hurting People

People who are hurting don't need someone with a spirit of pride trying to fix them; they need acceptance, love, and prayer.

... pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.
--- James 5:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Everybody hurts. We all have our own hurt and wound. Realizing that, it's wise if we could firstly accept ourselves with all our wound, and then secondly, we need to accept others with their wound as well. We can only make it with the help of God. He is the source of true Love. (-fon-)

Power in Unity

If we want to experience the power of God in our lives, we must dwell together in peace and harmony with our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
--- Psalm 133:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Power comes from unity. How to live in harmony with other people in this earth. Because we're all His Children. (-fon-)

Be Determined to Be Free!

All of the areas of your life that are out of order can be reconciled through Jesus and the work that He has done on the cross. Begin to believe it! Don't settle for bondage, but be determined to be free!

So, brethren, we [who are born again] are not children of a slave woman [the natural], but of the free [supernatural].
In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].
--- Galatians 4:31; 5:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We've all got our own bondages. But in Christ, we could be free from any bondage that we have in the past. With our determination to be free and with God's power to set us free, just believe that we could be a winner in this life.
(-fon-)

Don't Be Hasty

Impatience breeds frustration.

... he who is hasty of spirit exposes and exalts his folly.
--- Proverbs 14:29

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Just be patience. Because impatience brings more negative results in our life. Be more patience in each day of our life. (-fon-)

If Satan Had Known...

If Satan had known what he was doing when he crucified the Lord of glory on the cross, he would have never done it. He thought the crucifixion was his greatest victory, but it was actually his ultimate defeat.

If Satan had known what he was doing when he arranged for that beating in which Jesus received thirty-nine stripes on His back... when he incited the soldiers to make that crown of thorns and press it into Jesus' scalp until Blood ran down His face and into His beard... when he pierced His hands and feet and later His side... when he made arrangements for the bloodshed that redeemed God's man, he would certainly never have done it. As believers we receive power, healing, deliverance, and protection when we apply the Blood of Jesus by faith, asking the Lord to cover our lives, our loved ones, etc. in His Blood. No wonder Satan hates the Blood. No wonder he is afraid of the Blood. If he had known what he was doing, he would never have shed that innocent Blood. But it was done " once and for all," and it can never be undone. (See Hebrews 9:12)

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Jesus Blood is really powerful, as Jesus has always been. When we pray confidently in faith in the name of His Blood, He will protect us from danger.
(-fon-)

Strength through Adversity

I encourage you to be a person who is not afraid of responsibility. In meeting resistance you will build your strength. If you only do what is easy, you will always remain weak.

He who observes the wind [and waits for all the conditions to be favorable] will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
--- Ecclesiastes 11:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* This thought reminds us not be afraid of struggles and adversities. Because those are the times when we can build our strength and be more mature in Him/
(-fon-)

The Simplicity of a Child

Every healthy adult should also have a childlike spirit in them. Children are free, and Jesus came to set us free --- free to love, to live, to enjoy and be all we can possibly be, in Him.
Each of us starts out in life as a child, and as we grow up, we need to protect that child within us.

Seek to become and remain childlike in your inner self with all the simplicity of a child. It will enhance the quality of your life in a most amazing way.

And He [Jesus] called the little child to Himself and put him in the midst of them,
And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].
Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
--- Matthew 18: 2-4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* There's a soul of a child inside each one of us. And let it be! Because we need the simplicity in this complicated life. Sometimes in our prayer, we need to keep this child-like spirit in order to surrender in our Father, our God. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.19

Positive Thoughts, Positive Lives

Positive minds produce positive lives.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he...
--- Proverbs 23:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* It's all in our mind. Our mind could be a source of positivity or negativity. And many times the negativity comes and we need to fight it with positivity. Pray to God to fill our mind with all the good things, that will make us be a better person.

TOTD, Dec 18

Prayer Releases Peace

Worry increases pressure; prayer releases peace.

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
--- Isaiah 26:3

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Whenever we're under pressure, we become more and more worried, that makes the pressure increases. But when we pray while we're experiencing the pressure, we might be reminded once more that God is there and will be there to help us through it. And then we begin to feel peace. The peace that comes from God Himself. Pray more and we can experience more peaceful life. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.17

Be Powerful

You may have a very good reason to feel sorry for yourself; you may have been treated so terrible in the past so that you have every reason to feel bad. But you have no right to do so, because God is willing to set you free.

You can be pitiful or you can be powerful. The choice is up to you.

I call heaven and earth to witness this day ... that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.
--- Deuteronomy 30:19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* While remembering our past, we need to bear in mind that it's already over. Nothing we can be done to change our past. We might done terribly but God has already forgiven us. He has a plan to set us free. All we can do is just to cooperate with Him and gain more strength from Him. Draw ourselves close to God.
(-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.14-16

Give Love and Receive Love

Stop trying so hard to be perfect and please God. Instead start spending all that time and effort with God, loving Him. Just go around all day loving Him and letting Him love you. You will be surprised how much your behavior will improve.

The Lord takes pleasures in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving-kindness.
--- Psalm 147:11

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes we think too much and over-analyze about God. We thought that if we're perfect in His perspective, He'll love us more. But, God loves us just the way we are. All we need to do is just loving Him and receiving His Love without thinking too much. Just enjoy the power of God's love. (-fon-)

Take Your Rightful Place

When a person is trying to be something he was not intended to be, it prevents him from the enjoyment that would be his if he would take his rightful place in the body of Christ and be satisfied with fulfilling the part God designed for him.

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
--- 1 Corinthians 12:18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We'll only be complete and satisfied if we're at the right place that God has designed for us. We might search and do several roles, only to find that the one that's the most suitable for us is the one that has already planned by Him. (-fon-)

Step Out and Find Out

Stepping out into the unknown --- into something you have never done before --- can be a very fearful thing to do. Because of fear, many people never "step out"; therefore, they never "find out" what they are capable of.

When you have something on your heart you believe the Lord has given you to do, a good policy is to take one step at a time. Pray about it, then take one step in faith and obedience. Then take another step, then another. We reach our full potential by taking many, many steps of faith.

...Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.
--- Luke 5:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God has already planned something inside each one of us. I myself am still experiencing the dream that I believe comes from God.
Well, today's Thought reminds all of us to take one step in faith and obedience at a time. We need process and time plus faith in Him to become what we've been dreaming of. Something good and something that has been planned long long time ago by our Creator. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.13

Faith Is Now

We can always have faith now, but we cannot always have the manifestation now. Faith makes the manifestation a sure thing.

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being in the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
--- Hebrews 11:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
*Seeing is believing. It's easy to believe in something if we see it.
But what if we can't see but we still need to believe? Well, that's faith.
Faith gives us chance to trust God once more, to put our hopes and dreams in Him, even the reality seems the other way around.
Because He is faithful, He won't disappoint us if we put our faith in Him.
Keep on hoping in God. (-fon-)

Peace in the Midst of the Storm

The peace Jesus gives operates in good time or bad, when you are abounding or being abased. His peace operates in the middle of the storm.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
--- Philippians 4:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Mission Impossible in our thoughts: Peace in the Midst of Storm. But in God it becomes MISSION POSSIBLE. Because His Peace can conquer all kind of storms. We can sail peacefully in this stormy life with His guidance. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.11

Pray in the Name

If you know a person, an someone mention his name, you immediately see in your mind an image of that individual. The mention of his name provokes in you a remembrance of him. The mention of his name takes his place. He may not be with you physically, but his name brings to your remembrance everything about him that you know. Names represent people; they represent character.

The Name of Jesus represents Who He is. There is power in His Name, and the devil know is. Sad to say, often the enemy knows it better than believers. That is why it is imperative that we have a revelation about the Name of Jesus. When that Name is spoken by a believer who has revelation, all of heaven comes to attention. God listens to the prayers that are prayed in Jesus' Name. He answers those prayers. Hell also comes to attention when we pray in or speak about that Name.

That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
--- Philippians 2:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, every tongue should confess that He's the Lord. King of kings and Lord of lords. No need to be afraid of anything, just call His name. He will come to our rescue. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec. 10

Make Life Easy

If you try to live in the past, life will be hard. God did not call Himself, " the great I was."

If you try to live in the future or try to figure out what will happen tomorrow, life will be hard. God did not call Himself, "the great I Will Be."

If you will live one day at a time, this day, the day you are in now, life will be a lot easier.

God did say, " I AM."

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
--- Exodus 3:14

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Lots of people often trapped in the past and they're also afraid of the future. That's common for most of us. But as Christ's disciples, we need to make a difference. Live one day at a time, live in the present. Don't worry about the future and let go of the past. It's not easy, but if we can make it, we would enter a higher level of awareness in Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.07-09

Great Things Take Time

Impatient people often do not hang around long enough to see the finish of really great things because great things take so much time to mature.

... See how the farmer waits expectantly for the precious harvest from the land. [See how] he keeps up his patient [vigil] over it until it receives the early and late rains.
So you also must be patient. Establish your hearts [strengthen and confirm them in the final certainty]...
--- James 5:7,8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're getting used to instant things. Instant noodle, instant coffee, instant tea, instant food. That makes us more and more impatient. We hate to queue and sometimes we hate the process of waiting. But, there's no such instant way of being mature. Maturity takes time. It takes time and process from the cocoon to become a beautiful butterfly. And so does our life. (-fon-)

A Defeated Foe

Whenever the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.

Then the devil who had led them astray [deceiving and seducing them] was hurled into the fiery lake of burning brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (through the ages of the ages).
--- Revelation 20:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The devil would always find a chance to intrude our mind with negativity. You might sometimes feel his influence and persuasion on you. But, we just need to remember that our God is far above any creature and His power can overcome everything. So, with God on our side, why should we be worried? (-fon-)

He Is Willing

Everything in our lives depends not upon our merits or abilities or works but upon God's divine willingness to use His infinite power to meet our needs --- and at no cost to us whatsoever. We must depend totally on Him, not ourselves.

Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
--- John 15:4,5, 7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In order to live this life completely, we need to abide in the Lord. We need to be united in Him because apart from Him, we would be lost. So, don't wait till tomorrow, just do what we can do to get really close with Him today. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.06

Receive the Grace of God

If you are frustrated, it is because you are trying to make things happen on your own. It is not because you don't have any faith --- the reason is that you have stopped receiving from God, His grace.

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me.
--- 2 Corinthians 12:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* It's true: it's really frustrating and tiring to make things happen on our own. Because many things go in other directions. One thing that we should remember that our life will not be the same again by the time we received God as our savior. So, we need to remember that it's His will, not ours, that should be done. Thy will be done. That's when we become less stressful and less frustrated. Life won't be too complicated anymore. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.05

With God Nothing Is Impossible

As Christians, our number one job is the development of personal potential, but the amount of undeveloped, wasted potential in the world is pathetic, God places a part of Himself in each of us, Genesis 1:26 tells us that we are created in His image, and He is filled with potential --- with God nothing is impossible.

But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.
--- Matthew 19:26

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Have you ever had a dream that you hold so tight in your heart that you could never let it go even until now? Maybe you think it's impossible or it's too big for you to achieve?
Well, if God has already placed it in your heart, of course you need to really fight for it and do your very best to achieve it. With Him and in Him, NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE.
He will fulfill everything that He has planned in our life according to His perfect timing.
So, never say that your dream is impossible. It is POSSIBLE in Him, if He wants us to achieve it, eventually we will. Just trust Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec.04

God Will Never Reject You

Be quick to repent; don't try to hide anything from God. He will never reject you. He knows everything anyway, but repentance releases the power of the Blood in your behalf. The Blood that His Son Jesus shed on the cross for our redemption has the power to cleanse us from our past sins, failures, and mistakes, and enables us to live in the good plan God has for our lives.

But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keep us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
--- 1 John 1:7,9

My own reflection on this Thought:
*God is full of forgiveness. He is full of mercy. Nothing will ever change that. But of course, we mustn't take it as a granted. Every time we make mistake, we must repent and next time try to avoid to do it intentionally. We need to become a better person in Him in each and everyday. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec. 03

Grace, Grace, and More Grace

Grace is the ability of God which comes to us free for the asking when we accept His Son Jesus as Savior.

The grace of God is the exact opposite of works of the flesh. Grace leaves you strong and calm; works render you weak and powerless, frustrated, and frantic.

Don't be satisfied with just enough grace to save you from eternal damnation. Receive not only grace which saves, but receive grace, grace, and more grace so you may live victoriously and glorify Jesus in your daily life.

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.
--- 2 Peter 1:2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In this hectic life of ours, what we need is just a peaceful life. We can search everywhere to look for the peace, but it's hard to find a true one. When we know the source of grace and peace is from the Lord Himself, we'll seek Him more. And by that time we'll realize that the true peace only comes from Him. And in Him we could live a gracious life. (-fon-)

TOTD, Dec 01-02

Receive God's Forgiveness

God wants to give us the gift of forgiveness. When we confess our sin to Him, He forgives us of our sins. Psalm 103:12 says that He puts them away from Him as far as the east is from the west, and He remembers them no more. But for us to benefit from that forgiveness, we must receive it by faith.

Many years ago when I was first developing my relationship with the Lord, each night I would beg His forgiveness for my past sins. One evening as I knelt beside my bed, I heard the Lord say to me in my heart, " Joyce, I forgave you the first time you asked, but you have not received My gift because you have not forgiven yourself."

Have you received God's gift of forgiveness?

" And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive."
--- Matthew 21:22

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Many times we fail to forgive ourselves even though God has already forgiven us. This is not what He wants us to do. We need to regularly forgive ourselves. We have to think from another perspective. Yes, we have made mistakes, but God has already given His mercy. Why won't we give ourselves mercy as well?
Forgive ourselves and it will make us feel better. (-fon-)

The Word As a Spiritual Weapon

The reason our enemy, Satan, hates and fears the Word of God so much is because he knows that the Word is a powerful weapon against him. It assures his defeat! That's why it is imperative that we learn to use the spiritual sword Ephesians 6:17 says in the Word.

A sword is a weapon with which one attacks an enemy. A sword in the sheath is of no value. It must be wielded, or taken from the sheath and appropriately used. The Word of God is the believer's sword, and we must learn to apply it accurately. We apply it by reading the Word daily, getting it down in our heart and speaking it out our mouth. The believer who does that is a major threat to Satan.

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.
--- Ephesians 6:17

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Satan would always attack our mind. That's the easiest way to distract us. That's why we need spiritual weapons such as prayers and God's Words to make ourselves stronger. We have limitation. But once more we need to remember that we have a very powerful God. No limit within Him. (-fon-)

The Righteousness of God

Self-righteousness leaves no room for human error. We can only have it if we do everything perfectly. As soon as we make a mistake, we no longer have it and feel bad because we have lost it.

God's righteousness, however, is quite the opposite. It has been provided for those of us who, even though we would like to be perfect, have faced the fact that we cannot be perfect (except in heart). We have tried living with our faith in ourselves and found that it does not work. We have now placed our faith in Jesus and have believed that He became our righteousness. As we put on Christ, we put on righteousness like a robe and learn to wear it boldly.

For as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ (a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah) have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ.
--- Galatians 3:27

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul will exult in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness...
--- Isaiah 61:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Self-righteousness is on the contrary with God's righteousness. All we can do is just trying our best in our daily life and yet realizing the fact that we have our God as our righteousness. In Him we find true peace and far from self-guilty.

"Flip on the Switch" of God's Glory

As you leave the house to go through your day, ask the Lord to make His face shine upon you. Ask Him to lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. What you are asking God for is to let others see the light of His glory shining upon you and through you. That can be something as simple as putting a smile on your face.

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
--- Numbers 6: 25,26

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Smile on our face. That's the simple gift that we could give to others. When you find it hard to smile especially when you feel depressed, take a deep breath and try to smile. You'll feel better and you'll make others to feel better.
Smile as God has enough love for you today! Don't worry. Just share the love that we've got from God. (-fon-)

The Battle is the Lord's

We must come to realize the battles we face in this life are not ours, but God's. If we stop trying to win them by relying on the arm of flesh (our own ability), we will find the arm of the Lord (His power and ability) moving on our behalf and doing for us what we could never do on our own.

Be strong and courageous, but not be afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles...
--- 2 Chronicles 32:7,8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The message of today's Thought: don't ever try to win this battle of life with our own strength. That's really true!
I've once tried to win this race of life with my own strength, but the result was disappointing. Because there're so many things that I could never take control of. And so many unpredictable things happen along the way.
But by relying our strength within the arm of the Lord, I'm sure that He will lead us to His Path. Because He Himself is the PATH. He will show us the way. (-fon-)

TOTD, Nov.27

The Only Thing We Need

We all have available to us the one and only thing that we truly need --- the love of Jesus Christ. In fact, His opinion of us is the only one that really counts.

Who shall separate us from the Love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
--- Romans 8:35,37-39

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The only thing that could separate us from Christ is ourselves. When we lost our faith in Him, when we think that our problems are bigger than our God, that's when the separation begins.
But only God's love enable us to reunite again with Him. God's love can fill our hearts and make us realize that His Love would be there. Always and forever.
In times of doubt, we need to remember that His love would be there because He is love! (-fon-)

Look to God

Don't look to others to meet your needs --- look to God. Anything people may do to you, God can fix.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
--- Philippians 4:19

My own reflection on this Thought:
* I realize that we put our expectation on people. We expect so much from our spouse, from our boyfriend or girlfriend, from our children, from our friends etc... etc...
But our expectation on people might lead us to disappointment. They won't be there all the time for us.
God is the only one who can be there all the time for us. 24/7/365. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Look to God, put our hope as well as faith in Him and Him alone. He'll never disappoint us.(-fon-)

Waiting Well

One day a pastor picked us up at a crowded airport. It was extremely busy. The escalators had lines, and the restaurants had lines. It seemed as if everywhere we turned we were waiting. I could see that the pastor was getting a bit frustrated with the whole thing. Suddenly he turned to me and said, " I guess you can see that I don't wait well."

Anytime we haven't learned to wait well the results are obvious, not only in the way we behave emotionally but also in our physical bodies. Waiting is a large part of life, and if waiting always bring frustration, it creates stress that eventually takes a toll on the physical body and can cause sickness. This particular pastor who did not "wait well" was very sick at the time with physical weakness that his doctor said had been produced by years of stress.

Take a new attitude toward waiting, and it will not be so difficult for you.

But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
--- James 1:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We all need to wait for something in this life. And if we can't avoid this waiting thing, the Thought above suggests us to take a new attitude toward waiting. We need to wait well. I can see that most of us are impatient. We want things to be done instantly. That's why we need to be more patient. Wait patiently until He fulfill His Wonderful Plans for us. (-fon-)

God Is on Your Side

God is on your side, and if He is for you, it really does not matter who is against you. The giants may be big, but God is bigger. You may have weaknesses, but God has strength. You may have sin in your life, but God has grace. You may fail, but God remains faithful!

What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us?[Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?].
--- Romans 8:31

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In some moments of our life, we might feel that God seems so distant. If He seems so distant, are you sure that He's on your side?
Yes, without a doubt, He is. He is on our side.
He is faithful. He's there all the time. We might not feel His Presence, but He stays with us faithfully. We need to be reminded over and over again about His Faithfulness. He will never forget us. Be sure of that! (-fon-)

Step Out in Faith

I want to encourage you not to be afraid to step out. Even if you make a mistake, it won't be the end of the world. Don't spend all of your life looking back wishing you had tried different things or done things differently.

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
--- 2 Timothy 1:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Maybe some of you remember " The Quantum Leap". A serial that allowed the person to go back to the past and do things differently to save a person. But unfortunately, we live in a real world, where there's no such chance as " Quantum Leap". All we need to do is just to accept everything as it is. And also to believe in Him with all our faith that He has planned everything perfectly.(-fon-)

Power and Faith

As believers, when we ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, we are given His power and inner strength to help us do difficult things, not to make our life so easy that we never have to use our faith.

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.
--- Acts 1:8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Have this every crossed your mind? You thought the life of Christ's believers would be easy? Well, I have to say: it's on the contrary.
Life as His Disciples is full of problems (as the life itself is always full of problems, isn't it?:)), but His strength would be there to help us do the difficult things. Sometimes to do the impossible things.
That's when we need to use our faith in Him. If our life is so easy, we would never know how great our God is.
Keep the faith. (-fon-)

Enjoy Yourself and Others

Learn to enjoy people. Enjoy your spouse, your family, and your friends. Learn to enjoy your own unique personality and individuality.

... charge them not to be proud and arrogant and contemptuous of others, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches, but on God, Who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for [our] enjoyment.
--- 1 Timothy 6:17

My own reflection on this Thought:
* While I'm reading this thought, I remembered my neighbour once told me to enjoy the time with my baby. Well, it was quite hard. I mean, babies are lovely, but to enjoy it in all the pain that I felt after the delivery? Not an easy thing. But then, I slowly realize what she meant. Babies grow fast. And if I don't enjoy this time with my baby, this time alone will fly away and will never come back.
Of course we have problems adjusting with our spouse and family. Not to mention our friends. But as today's message: enjoy it. Let's try together to enjoy it. In all good times and bad times. (-fon-)

TOTD, Nov.20

Purchased with the Blood

You were bought with a price, purchased with a preciousness, and the precious thing you were purchased with is the Blood of Jesus Christ, which He willingly shed when He died on the cross for our sins.

Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ's sacred blood, you know.
He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately -- at then end of the ages -- become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It's because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.
--- 1 Peter 1:18-21

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Life is a journey and we have to travel with a deep consciousness of God. That's God's word for today. When we were in the dark, we just walk in this life like the way we want it to be. But of course everything's not the same now as we're Christ's followers. We need to travel it with a focus that we're living this life for Him. And we could be rest assured that we won't be left alone without any guidance from Him. He has sacrificed Himself to save us. Don't ever forget about that! (-fon-)

The Destructive Power of Words

Complaining, grumbling words carry destructive power. They destroy the joy of the one doing the complaining and can also affect other people who have to listen to them.

Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves].
--- Philippians 2:14

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Complaining and grumbling. These two activities are mostly the major things to do, especially we're in trouble. When we got a problem, we tend to speak about it all over again. Then we might feel that we got peace from speaking and complaining.
But actually, it's the other way around. When we're complaining, we lost the joy.
Well, we're all complainers, I guess. We complain almost about everything. But the most important thing is trying to avoid complaints. Pray more and seek God more when we're in trouble. (-fon-)

Conquer Fear

Fear is a spirit that can produce physical and emotional symptoms. When fear is attacking us, we may feel shaky and weak or find ourselves sweating. It may take everything we can muster just to speak or move. None of that means that we are cowards. The Word of God does not say "swear not, shake not, tremble not" --- it says "fear not"! The way to conquer fear to press on through it and get on the other side of it --- the side of freedom.

It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit] (depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm).
--- Deuteronomy 31:8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The best way to handle fear is through facing it and get the other side of it. So we can get the freedom from it. (-fon-)

Right Action Follows Right Thinking

There is a dynamic principle shown throughout God's Word, and no person will ever walk in victory unless he understands and operates in it: Right action follows right thinking.
Where your mind goes, your life follows.

And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
--- Romans 12:2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We have to think right. And with God we could be transformed into a new person. A new creature. By renewing our mind in Him. (-fon-)

Emotional Maturity

Too often we make prosperity or success or something else our goal when our first objective should be emotional maturity.
Although we cannot achieve that maturity and stability on our own. God will help us if we truly desire change.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
--- Psalm 91:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Some of us might be so emotional that we need anger management. But really, to be God's disciples meaning that we should be mature emotionally. We might not be able to achieve it by our own, but God could guide us all the way to achieve it. Just ask Him over and over again, to be a more mature person in Him. (-fon-)

Peace, Not Stress

By obeying God through obeying His Word and doing what we know in our heart is right for us, we will accomplish specifically what He wants done at the time and in the way He wants it done. This promotes peace instead of stress. Through obeying the Lord, we place ourselves in position for Him to be able to bless us in the way He desires and plans.

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
--- Romans 8:28

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We are assured to know that all things work together for good, for those who love God and called according to His design and purpose.
God only works for good. We must believe that. Even in the middle of the darkness, we need to be sure that His light will guide us into His perfect plan. This life has already been perfect, in His perfect plan for us. Whenever there's any imperfection in our perspective, just remember that God has already planned everything perfectly. (-fon-)

Learn to Show Mercy

We need to be able to show mercy to others and not be legalistic, rigid, and hard to please.
The Spirit of Jesus is patient, longsuffering, forbearing, and slow to anger. When we ask Him to fill us with the inner strength of the Holy Spirit, we have His Spirit in us, and with His help, we can learn to behave the way He would in relationships.

But you are not living the life of the flesh, you living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [ directs and controls you]...
--- Romans 8:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Learn to forgive others. That's the message of today's TOTD.
I know it's hard. I myself is struggling so hard to do this. By only imagining that you need to face the person that you dislike every day has made you feel uncomfortable.
But, in order to become a person who's full of mercy, we need to be given those hard tasks, facing hard-to-handle people everyday.
We're struggling hard. All of us. But I'm sure, God's grace would enable us to do so. (-fon-)

Enjoy Life!

Enjoyment of life is not based on enjoyable circumstances. It is an attitude of the heart, a decision to enjoy everything because everything --- even little, seemingly insignificant things --- has a part in the overall "big picture" of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
--- Philippians 4:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When things totally go wrong, if the advice is to enjoy your life,
you might ask," Is it possible?"
Well, even in our darkest days, actually God's message to enjoy this life in Him. Because He has already seen our life's complete puzzle and He knows where the pieces of it should be placed. So, even it's our life's deepest valley, let's try to enjoy this very day that the Lord has made. (-fon-)

TOTD, Nov.12

Be Realistic

We must learn to be realistic, not idealistic. Idealism says, " I can do it all!" Realism says, " I can do everything God asks me to do." That is an important difference --- one that requires real spiritual wisdom and discernment, which will come as we spend daily personal time with the Lord and in the Word.

... I can do everything God asks me to do with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.
--- Philippians 4:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We need to be realistic, because we can't do everything by ourselves. We have our own limitation. But our God is an awesome God. If He wants us to do something, He would equip us along the way. We're so lucky to have our God!

TOTD, Nov.9-11

See Yourself as God Sees You

Replace negative thoughts and words with positive ones. Stop seeing yourself as an unworthy sinner and begin to see yourself as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].
--- 2 Corinthians 5:21

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We all make mistakes. That's unavoidable. But Christ has already created us according to His image, and we have good values as the children of God. Don't ever forget about that! Right now, let's start to put our thoughts into a positive side. (-fon-)

Cast Your Cares

A person who worries still thinks that in some way he can solve his own problem. Worry is the mind racing around tying to find a solution to its situation.

When our enemy Satan tries to give us a problem, we have the privilege of casting it upon God. The Word "cast" actually means to pitch or throw. You and I can pitch or throw our problems to God and, believe me, He can catch them --- and He knows what to do with them!

Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you.
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
--- 1 Peter 5:6,7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Some of us are worriers. You are not alone for sure. But, the passage above asked us to surrender all worries to Him. And in Him, we can draw new strength that enables us to walk in faith in our daily life. Cast our cares! (-fon-)

Don't Listen to the Devil

"If" and "but" are two of the most deceptive words that Satan ever plants in our minds.

And when the tempter come to him, he said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written...
--- Matthew 4:3-4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Satan tries to influence us. The easiest way is through our mind. If we're distracted, it becomes so easy for him to make us feel unworthy.
But God's power is more powerful than anything. In order not to be distracted, we need to pray more and focus our mind to God. Even in our daily activities, call Jesus name. We can pray in everything we do. By concentrating more on Him , I'm sure, the enemy would find it hard to contaminate our mind. (-fon-)

It's Worth the Wait

Learn to enjoy waiting, realizing that waiting is what will deliver your dream. The fulfillment comes from God, but waiting is like the delivery boy. Sometimes a person starts waiting, and by the time the delivery boy arrives, they have gone off and started something else. They probably will not be around for the end fulfillment of that thing either.

If a thing is thrown together quickly to suit the impatient and those who do not wait well, it is not likely to be lasting. However, if people are willing to wait of God's perfect timing, it will be put together right and will last a long, long time.

The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
--- Psalm 145:15, 16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* I read a very wonderful article from Max Lucado. He said that waiting is not inactivity. But waiting is inHimactivity. Lots of things can be done in the middle of waiting, the most important thing is praying. We could pray more and get the strength more from Him. Because, I do realize how frustrating waiting can be for us... Make waiting as inHimactivity. Seek Him more while waiting... (-fon-)

Only Believe!

I would like to encourage you to remember something that I think will help you when doubt comes :Believers are called believers because they are supposed to believe! It is just that simple, believe.

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become a believer, not only in Who He is, but in the truth of His Word. As a believer, your part is to stay positive, keep it simple and believe.

... Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.
--- Mark 5:36

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Doubt will always come in our life. That's when the time we need to remember: we need to believe in God. Believing involving something that's still unseen, because we walk by faith and in faith we believe in Him. (-fon-)

Know the One Who Knows

I do not have to know and understand everything that is going on. I am satisfied to know the One Who does know!

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your path.
--- Proverbs 3:5,6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes we could not understand why must this thing is happening to me? But, we can be relax, because we know God, who knows every single thing that's going on in our life. He knows every single detail of our life and we can rely on Him. Because He is our God. (-fon-)

Always Need Jesus

You can improve all the time and keep pressing toward the mark of perfection, but you will always need Jesus as long as you are here on this earth.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
--- Philippians 4:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When I look at my past, sometimes it's really amazing that I could do a lot of things that I thought I couldn't. After becoming God's disciple, I realized that those things were able to be achieved because of the Lord who strengthened me all the time.
His Power will always be there for us. Not only on this earth, but until the eternity. We would always need Him. Forever and ever. (-fon-)

What Would Jesus Say?

Say about your situation what you believe Jesus would say, and you will open the door for the miracle-working power of God. You can find out what His Son Jesus says by reading the Word.

From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].
--- Proverbs 12:14

My own reflection on this Thought:
* What would Jesus say and what would Jesus do? Those two questions should always on our mind as a Christian. I'm sure, when we're led by those 2 questions, we'll act differently and of course we'll share more love to this world. (-fon-)

An Attitude of Gratitude

An attitude of gratitude gives thanks to God not only for what He does, but also simply for Who He is.

O give thanks to the God of heaven, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!
--- Psalm 136:26

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When this world of us is full of problems, can we still give thanks to the Lord with our grateful hearts? It's easy to praise Him when everything runs smoothly, but to praise Him and give Him thanks in times of trouble needs the maturity of faith. Can we do that? (-fon-)

Keep Moving Forward!

If you don't press on, you will always be trapped in your past mistakes. If you want to make progress, you'll move forward a lot faster if you don't waste time worrying about all the things you didn't do right.

I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to see what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal...
--- Philippians 3:13,14

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We all make mistakes. But if those mistakes trap us and make us can go nowhere, I think it's about time to let them go...
I know it's not easy, especially for the wrong things that we've done in our past. We tend to regret it and feel guilty about it.
But hey, we got our God, who could be our solid rock if we want Him to lead our life! As solid as He could be, He could lead us to wonderful things in His Plan. We only need to trust Him and move forward with Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, Nov. 01

Pray God's Will

Spirit- led prayer involves praying the will of God, not the will of man. It is impossible to pray the will of God without knowing the Word of God, because the Word is His will.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
--- Ephesians 6:17,18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The Word of God is our helmet of salvation, that's why we need to know the Word. Not only knowing it, we need to read it, meditate on it, so that it would become a rhyme in our heart and in our mind. (-fon-)

No Comparison

We are not to compare ourselves with others, but let Jesus be our example and learn to reflect the presence and personality of the God Who indwells us when we accept His Son Jesus as our Savior.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
--- 2 Corinthians 10:12

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Comparison is stressful. Even though we need it in this competitive world, but really : who wants to be compared? Every one has their own strength and weakness. And we need to remember that we're unique. That's how God has created us in the first place. This world may measure us, this world may compare us. But God accepts us just the way we are. His love for us is unconditional.

Don't Feel Condemned

A mature Christian knows that, even at his very best, he will still make mistakes. He also knows that to live under condemnation, self-hatred, and self-rejection will not help him live a holier life.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the Spirit.
--- Romans 8:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're only human. We can't avoid mistakes and become 100% perfect human being. That's why we need to forgive ourselves. Learn in each day of our life not to live under self-hatred or self-condemned. God's mercy will be there. He will forgive us. But let's not take it as a granted. Try to live this life the best we could...

Delight Yourself in the Lord

Stay busy delighting yourself in the Lord (seeking your happiness and satisfaction in Him), and let Him give you what He wants you to have. If God has placed the desire in you, you can be assured that He will bring it to birth in the right season.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
--- Psalm 37:4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're all hard to please. This world gives us so many competition, challenges, hardships, that make us so hard to please.
But as a Christian, we need to make thanksgiving as our attitude. I know it's hard, but really : we won't live our life to the fullest until we can have a heart that's full of thanks to the Lord. Learn to be thankful for what we have, even though they're not what we want. God will give us the best in His plan.

Choose to Praise

We should guard against the temptation to complain and grumble, and instead purposely choose to offer up the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
--- Hebrews 13:15

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Let us fill our lips with praise and thanksgiving instead of all the negative words. I myself is struggling hard for this especially when I'm facing an unsolved problem. But actually, the choice is ours. We could choose to grumble or we could choose to praise. Let's praise Him and be grateful for what He has already given us. (-fon-)

Being Meshed Together

When people grow together, if they do not give up on each other, they are usually meshed together in a deep relationship that will endure for all time. We might say that while the mess is being mashed out of them, they are being meshed together.

For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.
--- Ephesians 4:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Communication would build a better understanding. The real example we could see is in marriage, while 2 people with very different characters then live under the same roof and need to manage lots of conflicts together. With Christ as the priority, I'm sure that He would lead the way.
And the bigger picture is the whole body of Christ, the church itself, we know we're different but with a better understanding, with Christ as our focus, we could make a difference. We could make this world a better place. Only by realizing His love and spreading it to all the people we meet. (-fon-)

Grace through Faith

We only learn to trust God by doing it. We grow in grace by practicing putting our faith or trust in God and receiving His grace in situations that are difficult or impossible for us. Grace is the favor and power of God's Spirit providing help for us to accomplish whatever needs to be accomplished.

Sometimes we put our faith in God, and He gives us grace for a deliverance. At other times we put our faith in God, and He gives us grace to " go through." We must leave that choice to Him and know that either way we can have victory, but only by grace through faith.

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
--- Hebrews 4:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God's grace is enough to give us mercy for our failures, while maybe we haven't forgiven ourselves. This is interesting, because we thought God would never forgive us for the sins we've made. But, it was totally wrong for sure!
Because He's merciful. His mercy flows like a neverending river in our life. We need to grow our faith in order to believe that. (-fon-)

Just relax and let God be God.

[Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old: for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me.
--- Isaiah 46:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When we're in a very stressful condition, sometimes we could easily distracted and question about God. But, our God is a faithful God. He is the same: yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. No need to worry, because He's there and He'll be there all the way to see us through. (-fon-)

The Way to Change

The way to change is prayer, not pressure!

Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
--- James 5:16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Pressure can make us change. Sometimes it can make us perform well if we could manage the pressure.
But the real change must be through prayer. As a Christian, we need to bring every pressure that we're facing right now to God through prayers.

Prayers can also change a lot of impossible things. With our carnal reasoning, we might predict something according to our marvelous analytical skill.
But trust me, our prayer to God is more powerful than the best analytical skill that comes out of our mind.
Remember, our power is within some limits. But NO LIMIT in God's power.
Keep praying, keep the faith. (-fon-)

The Fruit of Words

Keep yourself happy by being careful about what comes out of your mouth.

A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall be filled.
--- Proverbs 18:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* As a Christian, we need to watch our tongue and our words. Whatever comes out of it, supposed to be a good one. Beware of gossips, and laughing after talking bad about others. I know it seems very common, but let's avoid the sins due to our tongue... (-fon-)

Preparing for Promotion

Learning to walk in obedience where we are prepares us for the next level into which God wants to take us. Obedience prepares us for promotion. We cannot wait until the "glory days" hit and then get prepared. Preparation precedes promotion.

Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposely and worthily and accurately, ... as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time...
--- Ephesians 5: 15, 16

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Lots of unpleasant things happen only for a good reason of preparation. Preparation might be a good one, but sometimes could be a long and winding one not to mention very uneasy one.
But our task, our duty, is just believe that God will take us to another level. A higher one. So that we could live our life from glory to glory within His Marvelous Plan. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct.19

The Perfect Reflection

We cannot always manifest perfect behavior, but with God's help we can always reflect a perfect Savior.

And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demand (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.
--- Philippians 3:9

My own reflection on this Thought:
* God is our perfect Savior. I once was wondering, how would my life be had I not met Jesus Christ as my Savior?
I would be LOST. I would be really stressed out. I would be in despair.
With God, I found a new me. Reborn. And the thought of knowing Him beside me all the time and in everything, make me rejoice.
I'm not free from problems, but knowing God would save me each time, gives me enough strength to carry on. May God give His abundant joy and strength to all of us today. He is our REAL SAVIOR. (-fon-)

Be Yourself

You will never sense fulfillment in life unless you reach the goal of being yourself. Don't be in competition with others; just be yourself.

Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another.
--- Galatians 5:26

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Not comparing ourselves with others? I think it's hard. Especially when we're living in such a moving and yet so competitive world.
But, that's what the Lord asks us to do. In order to live our life to the fullest in Him, we have to accept ourselves.
The only improvement that we could compare, is within ourselves. Do we become more patient? Do we become more loving?
And let us not compare our appearance, our look, because we're going to be disappointed since there's always be someone who's 'better' than us.
I know it's not easy, but try to accept ourselves with all our weaknesses. (-fon-)

Believe the Word

Believe what the Word says you are, and that is what you will become. Believe what the devil says you are through listening to others and through negative thinking, and you will become that. The choice is yours.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he...
--- Proverbs 23:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* You're worthy. God has created you within His Plan. Your existence in this world is not a coincidence or accidental.
But if you look into the reality, maybe it says differently. Or if you meet some people who always speak negative words, you might find that they talk differently with what you're supposed to believe. In this case, which one should you believe?
Disregard all the facts in this world, we need to reassure ourselves once again that GOD REALLY WANTS US IN THIS WORLD! Just believe in Him and re-program yourself with a new compact disc that plays over and over again in your heart saying that you're worthy :). (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct.14-16

According to Your Faith

God's ability to bring His will to pass in your life is determined by your faith in Him and in His Word.

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa, and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
--- 2 Chronicles 20:20

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Faith is the ability to believe what is unseen. And sometimes radical faith involves the total belief in God while the reality seems impossible for us. That's FAITH. In faith, we believe in Him, believe His ways which will always be there for us. (-fon-)

No More Affect

If we are trusting God instead of living in fear, we won't be devastated by rejection. Even when it comes, we'll hardly be affected by it at all.

Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.
--- Psalm 125:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Rejection is painful. It might hurt someone deeply. But with God, the rejection might be painful for a while, then we realize that God has a more beautiful plan for us. It might come next month, next 3 months, or next year, but the most important thing is: He got our bigger picture of life in His Hands. Nothing to worry at all.
(-fon-)

Effective Intercession

Not only can you and I speak the Word of God over our own lives, but we can be effective intercessor by speaking and praying the Word of God over the lives of others.

But the centurion replied to Him, Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured.
--- Matthew 8:8

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We need to get out of our self-centered attitude and try to pray for others. It's helpful as well as powerful. Sometimes when we're facing a very serious problem, we need other people's prayers too. So, why don't we make it as a habit! Have you prayed for others today? (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct.11-13

Defeat Worry and Anxiety

The Word coming forth out of a believer's mouth, with faith to back it up, is the single most effective weapon that can be used to win the war against worry and anxiety.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
--- Mark 11:23

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Faith, Word of God, and also prayers are the effective weapon to conquer worry and anxiety. Just let God take control, while we surrender our will to Him. Then we'll find ourselves less worried... (-fon-)

God's Appointments

God has an appointed time, or we might say that He has set appointments, for us concerning certain issues in our lives. We might as well settle down and wait patiently because that is when it will happen and not until then.

You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it its time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
--- Psalm 102:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Waiting isn't always a wonderful thing. It might make us impatient, and sometimes drive us into despair. But, God's timing is the best for us, He knows everything and He has arranged everything accordingly in His Time. (-fon-)

Make Time for God

There is a big emphasis today on spending personal time with the Lord, and rightly so. We spend time with Him by talking to Him and reading His Word, which brings us into His presence. More than anything else, we need His presence. He is the only One Who can do anything for us that will be permanent.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life : in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
--- Psalm 16:11

My own reflection on this Thought:
* If we're so busy we might say that we don't have time for God. But actually, if we look into it more deeply, I might say if we don't have time for God means we don't give any priority to Him. If we prioritize Him, we would able to find: even in the most busiest day of our life, we'd like to talk to Him, and we'll manage to arrange some quality time with Him. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct 10

The Righteousness of God

Don't let the devil fill your head with thoughts of unworthiness. Remember: thoughts are seeds. Your spirit can only produce for you what you sow and nurture within your own mind and heart. Every thought you allow to enter and take root in your innermost being will begin to grow and produce fruit.
That is why you need to learn to replace negative thoughts and words with positive ones. You need to stop seeing yourself as an unworthy sinner and begin to see yourself as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

But it is from Him that your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom for eternal penalty for sin].
--- 1 Corinthians 1:30

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Every thought of us will produce fruit, that's why we need to take a very good care of our thought so that it won't be contaminated by the negative thoughts.
Of course, it's not an easy task. While so many people surround us are getting used of it and while our mind tends to think negatively... That's why we need to really put the positive words and Words of God inside our heart, inside our mind, so it would become a never-ending rhyme in our thought. (-fon-)

Believe and Receive

We can receive from Satan by believing what he says when he tries to fill our mind with negative thoughts, or we can receive from God by believing His Word. We all believe something; it may as well be something good.

Always remember that it does not cost anything to believe! Try it, you will find your life changing in an amazing way.

... it shall be done for you as you have believed ...
--- Matthew 8:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* In order to have a high level of faith, we need to believe in God. More and more each day. Sometimes it's not easy, especially when our curve of life is bringing us on a downward trend. But, as long as we choose to believe- really do our best to fight for it- I'm sure we would get it. All we have to do is just BELIEVE. (-fon-)

Speak Life, Not Death

Speak out faith-filled words, believing as Jesus said, that the words you speak are spirit and life.
Speak life into your life, not death.

It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.
--- John 6:63

My own reflection on this Thought:
* The Word of God is spirit and life. That's why we need to read it continually in order to get some 'renewal' in our life. Because lots of people speak unpleasant things or negative things, we would easily become affected. With the Word as our shield, we would become stronger to face even the most negative person in our life. We can't make it on our own, we need to cooperate with God. Seek His presence more! (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct.05-07

Love Makes a Way

God's love is of such magnitude that it covers everything. Do you think that the same God Who saved you and set you free is going to condemn you? Satan, our enemy, is the condemner. God will conduct you of sin in your life, and He will show you the way out (in His Word and in your heart). The devil will condemn you and tell you (in your mind) there is no way out.

Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.
--- Romans 8:1

My own reflection on this Thought:
* As Christ's follower, we should realize that we're not live after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.
So many times in my life, I had a feeling that I didn't have enough strength to go on, not enough strength to carry on due to so many problems that I thought would never have any solution. But, God has proved His power again and again through the Holy Spirit that guided me all this time. Don't let ourselves being dictated by our flesh, but let the Holy Spirit take control! (-fon-)

Seek Counsel by Praying First

Don't run around seeking counsel from just anyone. Pray first, asking the Lord whether it is His will that you go to another human being for counsel r whether He desires to counsel you Himself.

However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].
--- John 16:7

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Sometimes we forgot to seek God when we're facing a problem. It's natural. Usually people will look for other people first, rather than looking for God.
But now, we have to act as a real Christian. Our dependence upon God must be on top of everyone else. Because human has their own limitation, but God is without limit, He's able to do things beyond our thoughts. Trust Him more! (-fon-)

Let Go of Reasoning

Reasoning " Why, God, Why?" is one of the things that causes confusion, steals our peace and ultimately, our joy.
Do you want to enjoy your life? Then "reasonings' will have to go!

... refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and ... lead every thought purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
--- 2 Corinthians 10:5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When you read TOTD above, you might think, why can't I do the reasoning? Why can't I ask WHY GOD? Does God create us with our thoughts, our brains, and our mind? Then, why can't we ask why?
Even He creates us with our thoughts, but He wants us to have the act of submission. We need to surrender all the reasonings in order to get a better relationship with Him. So that He would be our master, mastering our mind-our hearts- our spirit.
So, by the time that question appear again, we would bring it to God, until we find a new understanding-a new perspective in Him. Communicate all our thoughts with Him, I'm sure He'll guide us to the new understanding. (-fon-)

Enjoy the Trip!

Honor God by trusting Him, and while you are traveling the road to fulfillment, enjoy the trip!

But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and deligently seek Him [out].
--- Hebrews 11:6

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory in Him.
That's so true! The only way that we could reach the fulfillment in Him is with our faith. With faith, we could even move the mountain, and do all things in Him.
(-fon-)

Shake It Off!

Whatever may be troubling you from the past, shake it off! God has a great future planned for you. The dreams of the future have no room for the snakebites of the past!

Now Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and he was laying them on the fire when a viper crawled out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.
Then [Paul simply] shook off the small creature into the fire and suffered no evil effects.
--- Acts 28:3, 5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We all have our past. If it's a good one, maybe we would treasure it so much. How about past sins that we can't even forgive ourselves? God wants us to repent because His Mercy is always be there. And after that, He wants us to move on and not live in the shadow of our past sins. He will provide a beautiful future according to His Plan for us. (-fon-)

Degrees of Progress

We rarely ever go from bondage to complete freedom overnight. It happens in degrees. We are changed from glory to glory as we spend daily time alone with God, continue to read His Word, and ask Him to fill us with the inner strength of His Holy Spirit. We gradually change as we build our relationship with the Lord.

Do not be discouraged if your progress seems to be slow. Slow progress is better than no progress.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
--- 2 Corinthians 3:18

My own reflection on this Thought:
* What if your spiritual progress seems slower than others? Maybe the best advice is don't compare yourself with others. Everyone has his/her own time in His Plan and let us remember it's not a competition. All we can do is just believe in Him that He will bring us from glory to glory with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And the way He brings us to the progress might be different with our thoughts. All we can do is just: trust Him. Always. (-fon-)

TOTD, Oct. 01

Put Your Trust in God

You can put your trust in people, yourself, your job, your bank account and many other things, but all these are unstable at times.

Jesus is the Rock, the One Who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8). Put your trust in Him.

I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
--- Psalm 91:2

My own reflection on this Thought:
* When I went to the church last week, the pastor talked about the US Dollar note, it's written there : in God we trust. Then the pastor told us, how he wondered, in which God do they trust? Is their money equals to their God?
This homily was interesting. Very interesting, I might say. It reminds me once again, that I need to trust God, Jesus Christ Himself. No other God except Him alone.
Not the money, not the job, not ourselves, not even our closest friend or kin. Jesus is our one true God. He's the solid Rock that will be the same now and forever. Amen. (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 28-30

Be Confident in Jesus

The devil wants you and me to feel so bad about ourselves that we have no confidence in ourselves. But here is the good news: We don't need confidence in ourselves --- we need confidence in Jesus!

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.
--- Hebrews 10:35

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Too much confidence in ourselves often makes us proud and boastful. But confidence in Jesus is the other way around. The confidence in Jesus makes us have our full faith in Him by realizing that we're nobody without Him. (-fon-)

Joy in the Will of God

It is vitally important to realize that whatever God calls us to do, He provides enjoyment for. Don't just work --- enjoy your work.

That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
--- Romans 15:32

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Surrendering our own will and replacing it with God's will sometimes is not easy. It requires the act of submission to God. Thy Will be done.
But once we can see His wonderful will for us in different perspective, we would realize that we'll find joy in it. We'll have a joyful life in His Will. (-fon-)

No Time to Complain

Truly thankful people do not complain. They are too busy being grateful for the good things they do have. They have no time to notice the things they could complain about.

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
--- John 6:43

My own reflection on this Thought:
* If you complain easily for the time being, trust me, you're not alone. Lots of us who's reading this scripture right now is or was a great complainer.
All we can do is just minimize it and then slowly omit it. Once we can be thankful of His Blessings in our life, then that's the time when we can see: even in the middle of the hopeless situation or the worst thing in our life, we can still see how marvelous His Blessings are! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 27

God's Love Will Get You Through

God loves you enough to cover your little daily mistakes. He loves you enough to get you through this day in power and victory.

He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father loves and pities his children, so the Lord loves and pities those who fear Him [ with reverence, worship, and awe].
--- Psalm 103:10-13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* We're all sinners. If we look at our list of sins, trust me: they're plenty...
But it doesn't mean that God won't be able to forgive us. He loves us so much and his mercy is like a river that flows continuously in each day of our life.
Our duty is just receive His love, try to make as little mistake as we could, and do our best as the Children of God-the apples of His Eye... (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 25

" Later, God, Later "

A friend of mine had a vision once while she was praying. She saw the Father go into the homes of the people of America when they got up in the morning. He went in all ready to fellowship and talk to them. He got a chair at the table and sat down. The people got up, and they came, and they went throughout the day. They kept telling God, " Stay right there for just a little while, God. As soon as I get this done, I'm going to talk to You. I'm going to fellowship with You later, God."

The end of the day came, and the girl who saw this said it broke her heart because she saw God, with slumped over shoulders, leave the homes. And nobody had ever come to talk to Him that day.

If you don't have time to pray and spend time with God, then you are too busy. Take the time to tell God how much you love Him, and develop a relationship with Him. If you don't and you are born again ( you've invited Jesus into your heart), you will still go to heaven, but you will have missed the joy of living a victorious life.
( See Psalm 27:4)

My own reflection on this Thought:
* There's no perfect time to talk to God.
Of course, we can set a regular time to pray, but actually praying is a lot more than just that time that we've already set. We can pray while we're working, while we're cooking, while we're sweeping, while we're doing some sport, while we're driving, etc... etc...
So, don't delay. Just start right now to communicate with Him. And that means in the middle of anything that we're doing right now. Talk to Him, listen to Him, communicate and build relationship with Him. He is there, He's not that far and He's a real good friend! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 26

Draw on God's Power

The only way to get to the other side of a problem and eliminate its power over us is to face it and allow the Holy Spirit to instruct us in the Word and by leading or guiding us in our heart in how to walk through it.

We will never gain a personal victory if we always get deliverance by miracles. God may give us some victories in that way, but all of them won't come that way. He wants to empower us to face the enemy ourselves (in the strength of His power) so that we can have a personal victory.

In conclusions, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]: draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
--- Ephesians 6:10

My own reflection on this Thought:
* By realizing our weaknesses, we should draw the real strength that only comes from Him. That's the message from Ephesians 6:10.
We're weak and we live in this world of never ending problems, that's why we need to cooperate with God. Draw the real strength from Him, so that we can face even the most impossible thing that could happen in our life, with His guidance.

Act on the Word

Good intentions are not obedience. Action taken based on God's Word is obedience. Don't procrastinate!

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people...
--- Exodus 19:5

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Action is always speak louder than words. We may think of the theory, but the problem is how to put the theory into practice.
As God's children, we need to obey Him. We need to do things based on His Characters, His commandments, which can be seen through the bible itself.
Act now! (-fon-)

TOTD, Sept. 21-23

Everything We Need

The Gift of God, the Spirit of grace, is the One Who brings every other good gift into our life. That is what the Holy Spirit is given to us for. God gives us the Holy Spirit --- He gives us His inner strength and power --- when we ask Him to fill us with His Spirit. Through His Spirit God gives us everything that we need.

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!
--- Luke 11:13

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Our Father is very kind to us. With His gift of Holy Spirit, it could enable us to forever change in Him. It could bring us the fruits of the spirit, love-peace-joy-and all the good things that might be in our life. Continue to ask Him to fill us with His Spirit. We would see the difference. (-fon-)

Improve with Patience

People improve more rapidly under patience than under pressure.

Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
--- James 1:3-4

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Having experiencing the life in the city of Jakarta, I do believe it's almost impossible to be patient.
While driving, everyone wants to be the fastest, sometimes without understanding other's condition. While queuing, lots of people becoming lazy to queue and becoming impatient, because they want to be the fastest. Everyone's under pressure...

But being under pressure would bring us nowhere. We need to believe that we need to learn to be more patient in each and everyday. Especially in our daily life. In Jakarta, in Singapore, or in any other cities in the world, it doesn't really matter, all we must do is just learn to be patient. (-fon-)

Keep Yourself Happy

Anytime we expect someone else to keep us happy all the time, we are in for some disappointments.

Thou wilt shew the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
--- Psalm 16:11

My own reflection on this Thought:
* Blame it on the rain, blame it on the traffic jam, blame it on someone... Maybe it's us that try to blame it on something or someone for being unhappy.
But actually, it's our own responsibility to stay in happiness, to stay in joy. We can't blame it on something/someone.
Don't expect too much and take responsibility of your joy, just believe that God's joy is enough for you. Even in the darkest valley of your life, His Joy would be there to see you through. Amen! (-fon-)
